Well Worth the Extra $$$, March 14, 2009
This review is from: Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition Collector's Guide: The Complete Official Guide (Hardcover)
When it comes to CE strategy guides, you either get a different cover and packaging, or you get something unique, hardbound, high-quality pages, and an extra or two. The RE5 CE guide falls into the latter category and is well worht the extra five or so dollars over the regualr edition. Since this is a strategy guide, I'll be brief.
Pros:
-High quality pages and hardbound, definitely a keeper.
-Great illustrations and pictures
-No Spoilers in the walkthrough as far as the story goes. DON'T look at the achievement list until after you've finished the game, as the story related trophies/achievements give events away, BUT...
-The achievement/trophy list tells you exactly how to obtain them, and when the best time to do so is
-Every subchapter is mapped with the locations for all treasures and emblems, and tells you if it's worth fighting certain mini-bosses to obtain their unique treasures
-Mercenary mode tips and overview
-12 month calendar is very nice for fans
-Bestiary, boss tips, and weapon upgrade advice is fantastic
-Extra 16 pages of nice concept art/locations in the game
CONS:
-Being a Piggyback guide, the style is best suited for a "heads-up" playhtrough, rather than a step-by-step walkthrough. So if you like to see the entire game story-mapped out room by room, you may find the text-heavy style difficult.
If you're going to get a RE5 guide, make it the CE edition.

It's a must have for any Resident Evil 5 player., March 21, 2009
This review is from: Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition Collector's Guide: The Complete Official Guide (Hardcover)
Length:: 2:06 Mins
Whether you're still stuck at a certain point in the game or beat/loved the game, this guide will make a great addition for any Resident Evil 5 player.
I beat the game (and it was an awesome experience!), but I completely missed out on all the emblems (must... get... that Tribal outfit for Sheva...) and secret items. Sure, I could have my laptop open and try to look up some guides online, but it's just not as convenient or organized (and usually full of other junk on the page).
I'm really glad I bought this guide. The hard cover and size feels like a high school year book. There's about 224 pages (give or take).
Pros:
- I really love how these guides have easy-to-glance maps with items marked clearly.
- Lots of extra info (secrets/boss/character/weapon info/behind the scenes)
- Hardcover/nice color prints (I love the smell of a brand new book!)
Cons:
- Lots of paragraphs; not really a step-by-step walkthrough, but the map and few screenshots of the location is helpful. (The best guide ever for me was Versus Books Unofficial Final Fantasy VII guide -- now that was a beyond 5-star guide)
- What?! How could they not put any of the attractive girls on the calendar? What about Sheva in her special Tribal outfit or Jill (or as Chris likes to ask, "Where's Jill?!?!?!!") or... Excella... I mean unless you just have a thing for zombies!
- How "Limited" is this, really?
Overall, I would recommend this if you're going to get the game.

This review is from: Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition Collector's Guide: The Complete Official Guide (Hardcover)
Did a great job on getting it to me! Really Good condition! would recommend business to others. This product really helps me find the nooks and crannies in the game...little better then just running around dying all the time!
