Decent Game,

I'm a die-hard Resident Evil fan, so I got this one. I've only played it on my PS2 and it works great. However, you can't save the game, so you have to beat it in one sitting. I like that it's inventive, with the first person perspective, no track to follow, and the ability to carry an unlimited amount of items. Only get this if you love Resident Evil.

Let's hope they don't make another one of these.,

I originally bought this game at an impulse (I've been a fan of the RE series ever since it's debut on the playstation 1), and I really regret having spent my money on it. RE survivor is an ill-convieved and poorly executed take on the Resident Evil storyline. First, progression through the game is completely linear and simple to the point of being annoying. You have only to keep moving forward, and you will make it to the end. Personally, I have always enjoyed the challenge of searching all over the scenarios to find everything you need to make it through the game, but in this incarnation, that ceases to exist. Second, Weapons are painfully limited. You have a series of handguns, a shotgun, a bazooka, and that's pretty much it; You don't even have the knife from all the other RE games. Third, I don't appreciate the enemies at all. The zombies move so slowly and a roomful is so easily defeated that all the challenge and thrill is gone. There is only one major enemy (a completely un-original knock-off of the tyrant from RE1), which is far too easy to beat. Besides all that, RE survivor really does nothing to advance the storyline of the series. The only reason I gave it a 2nd star is because, for die-hard fans of the series at least, this game is playable enough the first time through. All in all, though, it was a very disappointing experience.

I already knew that this game wasn't going to be as good as the other ones, but I decided that when it came out I was going to get it just to add it to my collection. Well, it wasn't too bad of an idea, the game is not total .... but I knew that the Playstation would not be able to handle something like this. Capcom should've waited till the PS2 came out and THEN they should've put this game out. The best part of this game is just the whole first-person gig, I actually didn't think Capcom would go through with it but they did. However it is pretty cheap in some ways, besides the graphics. Whenever you run by an enemy that jumps toward you (e.g. licker or hunter) they will not damage you at all, and also the acting is just horrible. The acting in this game makes Resident Evil 1's sound like a Metal Gear game or something. I cannot fathom a reason as to why some people think this game is better than the others (and it's not), if they think that they need some serious help (especially that gamer from partridge who said nemesis is a waste of time *rolls eyes*). Either way, if you are kind of curious about this game I suggest you rent it first.

Capcom is really overdoing this franchise.Personaly I am a big fan of RE games but this one is just messed up. RE is supossed to be a "cinmatic" Game. First: This is a first person shooter RE. 2nd you have to play the hole game in one sitting.Third :the great "pop out of your seat moments" are spoiled buy the stupid first person veiw. If you want a good RE game stick with the other four games or if you can wait, wait for RE:Zero.

this would've been great,

This game would've been my favorite of all time if only they hadn't done the one thing that made this game bad, taking away the guncon support. this game is actually really good, but the reason evryone trashes it is because it is a guncon game withought guncon support. It was extremly difficult to move the target on those... dogs before they could hurt me. wihought a doubt, this game would've been better if they had kept the guncon support. another mistake they made was making you play through the whole thing withought saving. In doing this they had to make the game unbearibly short which adds to the badness. So i wouldn't reccomend the US version of this game , however, the japanese version is alot better because it supports the guncon. So if you can find it then get the japanese version, I highly recommend getting it. WARNING! If you get the US version, hoping to get a good lightgun game, you will be highly dissapionted.

Resident Evil Survivor is an arcade style game but the bad news it does not support the light gun if it did this would be a good game but still this game ain't the best but it can be worse i loved the storyline loved it the main character is named Ark Thomas, in the begining of the game there is a scene of a man on the helicoptor rails below his name is Vincent that did all these mass murders. he tryed to stop Ark from escaping the city why because Vincent wanted to kill him because Ark was spying on Vincent of his evil activity and Vincent stoled Ark's dog tag that had his name on it then they crashed Vincent got killed Ark survived Ark got up and did not know who he is or where he is he does not no his name or waht happened or does not know there's zombies and Vincent co workers are telling Ark that his name is Vincent. also this game improves your shooting skills that why i like this game.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Resident Evil: Survivor (Video Game)
Residant Evil: Survivor or Biohazard: Survivor (Japanese name)is not at all like I had expected. There was practicly no blood...let alone gore. I played it a a movie theater (even though it was called Biohazard, I knew it was the same thing) and after I was done I thought "What a waste of money!" So whoever you are viewing my review, DON'T BUY IT...BEFORE ITS TOO LATE!

A RE BOMB that fails to dentonate. Capcom's RE Blunder.,

I'm a huge Resident Evil fan, when I heard there was a moive that comming out for it, I was elated! (if there was going to be one)When I heard that RE Survivor is comming out to the US, I was delighted! When the game hit the rental shelves I immediately took the game and checked it out. To my surprise, the gameplay was almost like Doom or Time Crisis with one flaw... the annoying cross hair you have to aim with! Unlike the other Resident Evil games, you can shoot at the general direction with your gun and hope to hit a zombie or two. With this you have to move the crosshair around and aim it at the enemies, imangine trying to hit those rabid dogs with a little dot. One great thing about this game is that Capcom has managed to put a semi interesting story behind a this sad game. If you are a Resdient Evil fan like me and know the story about Racoon City and the Umbrella Corp. The storyline is pretty cool to follow through. Final Thought - Try avoiding Tryant and shooting at him isnt fun, shooting at specific body parts doesnt matter, unlimited bullets is kinda nice, and the controls for this game is poor. If you are a true Die Hard Resident Evil fan, this is the game for you. But if you a unsure about the theme change, 3rd person to 1st person shooter, you better risk it by renting it like I did. I was pretty glad I've rented first, I've bought myself the copy of Resident Evil 3 when it came out and it was AWESOME!

Some major problems, but still decent,

This review is from: Resident Evil: Survivor (Video Game)
I'm a big fan of the RE games and I was looking forward to this one. I've rented this game for the last 2 days, and I have no instructions, so if I'm wrong about my assessment let me know.OK..............WHY CAN'T you save???????? After playing this game for 2 days, am I wrong, but you can only save the guns you have...........NOT YOUR PLACE IN THE GAME!!!!!!!!! Now I've played this game to the end and it takes about 2-3 hours to complete with full guns and ammo. Maybe i'm wrong but who has 3 hours to devote to straight gaming? That's weak. Let me restate this. You cannot continue from the place you died. You start over from the beginning with all the weapons you've gained. I can't fathom why this is, but it's terrible. Also, as far as bad things go..............there's no "strafe". You can't run and shoot, let alone run right/left and shoot, like most 1st person shooters. As far as the good..............The storyline is fun, and all the rest of the RE classic fun things are represented. Honestly, if it weren't for the SAVE problems, and the lack of enovation in the 1st person shooter genera this game woulda been great. Don't buy it...........RENT FIRST

Rent first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,

Well I am a huge fan of the resident evil series, and i was expecting the same out of this game as what capcom had put into the other three games. Well lets put it to you this way. I beat the game in one hour. Actually it was 57 minutes, i was extremely dissapointed. The graphics are alright i guess the game play is the same as all the resident evil's and the first person view was a nice change. the first person view did have a huge disavantage, YOU CANT SEE BEHIND YOUR CHARACTER!!!!!!!!!! This game did offer a quick Turn option which allowed your character to turn around quickly but still it was a pain. The boss was well also a dissapointment. He was simple and well annoying actually(not as annoying as "nemisis"). The best part of the game was when i was beating the last phase ......thing....and he picked my character up in the air and hit me a few times....that looked cool from teh first person view. But the plot was weak .....if you are a resident evil fan then by all means rent the game caus ei believe its worth playing just not worth buying
