This is a useful and detailed guide but be warned you still have to write your own notes on what you did wrong and accidentally and do some backtracking. I think Prima guide is probably more helpful but I havent purchased that yet.Also Rogue Leader really isnt especially confusing but RE is.Still love the graphics though.

This book helped me through the hardest parts of the game and I love the game so the book just added the fun I had with the game. I hope any one who buys the game get the book it will help you a great deal. I hope that any one with this book have a great and fun time.

while not nessecery to finish the game by any means, this guide is still very helpful, especially if you are trying to unlock different endings, or cheats.

I found this book to be indespensible when exploring this game. Some of the puzzles and challenges I don't know how I would have figured out without the book. A time saver on levels wherre I was just plain stuck. If you own the game or need help this is the book to have. Also good for figuring out the alternate stories that can take place depending on your decisions in the game.

I am a die-hard Resident Evil fan and I have been since 1996 when I first played Resident Evil.

Resident Evil (Playstation One): I couldn't get out of the mansion for MONTHS. I beat Yawn (the snake in the attic), I figured out all of the puzzles (so I thought) and I just could not find that darn 4th crest (the painting puzzle--cradle to grave, who knew?! LOL) So, I bought the official strategy guide by Zach Meston and I conquered the game. The guide that Zach Meston wrote for the original Resident Evil is by far the best strategy guide I have ever used. This strategy guide is a distant 2nd place, BUT, well worth the cash you pay for it.

So, the re-make guide for the re-make Resident Evil for Gamecube/Wii by Dan B. is great, and the only reason I give this guide 4 stars instead of 5 is that this guide is not too dummy proof---The guide expects that you remember this and that and it doesn't show you captions of the map area where you need to go for the 1st time (sometimes) or return to(all the time)--instead, in many situations, it just instructs you by words and it expects you to remember the places in the game whereas the guide for the 1st Resident Evil was totally pictoral and instructive for every situation, so expect your short-term and long-term memory to be tested.

All in all, a great guide and still perfect for novice zombie hunters/veteran Resident Evil gamers.

This strategy guide was pretty good but lacked some of the extras more recently published strategy guides have. The writing was pretty well done and easy to follow for the most part. I desperately wish that they would have included mini-maps to accompany the written walk-through, it would have made things much easier at times, however being in the position of actually NEEDING a mini-map to help during the course of the game is rare. The guide is pretty well comprehensive and makes traversing through the mansion so much easier. I find that the game is best enjoyed however by briefly skimming over the upcoming hardships, preparing, and just going at it as best as I can without the guide unless I get stuck. The poster in the back is kind of "meh", but besides that, it's a pretty good guide. A-.

I have read other reviews on line about this guide and i don't understand how in the world is this confusing to someone as the people who wrote the book did included all there are to know about the game itself and all the tips and tricks you need to know to survive the horror and to unlock all the cool bonus...There only one thing,they didn't include any of the other cheats which i found out later ... like the ultimate grenade ammo clone.Perharp they want us to pay a bit of sweat when play the game and still that not the reason to take away the 5 stars that it deserve.....Hi hi.

I bought this guide and didnt use mostly because the puzzles in remake arent that hard, but I would recommend to any fan of the series because its got some good interviews with the devlopers.

I chose this strategy guide over Prima's version...which was a mistake. This guide lacks detail. It is not specific enough. Also, all secrets are not revealed. I suggest going with Prima's guide.

this book is a must if you own resident evil (1) on gamecube. full colour photos and easy to understand language, this guide is the best!!!!! recommend it to all re fans.
