This manual is a must for contractors who design and install residential HVAC systems. I worked with a duct design firm when I built my house and referred to this manual. Unfortunately, most contractors don't use software (or even long hand calculations) to design duct systems...they estimate based upon past installations and by using square footage measurements only. While this is faster, it usually means your HVAC system is oversized or undersized and will not provide the expected comfort under a wide variety of conditions. Extra time spent in properly designing your HVAC system will reward the occupants with a more confortable living / working space.

I am ready to install a HVAC in an older house what had an inefficient duct system. There is a ton of information and contains some examples of different types of systems for homes. You have to look hard to see the forrest for the trees. For me, I did not find it an easy read but I did glean up the information I needed. You can't just take A plus B and expect to understand C. Like I said there is a lot of information in this manual. It is for professionals and now I am one. I think.

I purchased this to use in the conditioned air exam. I didn't sell it back because I know I will revert back to it in the field. Fast shipping.
