Book Description

January 1, 2002
The events of 9-11 proved that our spirits are larger than we ever imagined. We can do amazing things collectively and individually. This small book gleans wisdom from the ordinary and extraordinary, offering simple reminders of powerful actions that produce resilient results. As one client told me, this is a book I keep on my desk and open everyday. There s always the right lesson staring at me. After all, we can use a boost every now and then! Our spirits need encouragement. We believe in the power of the human spirit to overcome great odds, to make bold moves, to change the course of history. We know the energy and skill of the talented men and women in all of our communities. And we know that our spirits need encouragement to stay the course in a world of challenge and complexity. Each of us has great strength to overcome odds. We just need to be reminded at times. Consider this little book your booster shot . Let it spike the antibodies so that you ll not only survive but thrive in your work, your life, and our world. After all, we ARE in it together.

It's such a jewel of a book. The first time I read it, it lifted my spirits and energized my body so that I felt that I could accomplish anything I wanted. All I needed to do was begin. And you know what? I've read the book again and again with the same results. I have finished so many projects and fulfilled so many dreams...all because of THE RESILIENT SPIRIT.

Thank you, Eileen McDargh!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lift your spirit!, June 2, 2004

This is one of those little books with a powerful punch. I can open at any point and be reminded of that resilient part of me where there is strength, celebration and inspiration if I just tap it. Even the drawings are joyous. And it does it without being "gushy" or sentimental. I want to share it with my colleagues, friends and clients--we can all use some of this.

5.0 out of 5 stars A small book with lots of power!, May 11, 2004

This review is from: The Resilient Spirit: Heart Talk for Staying Rightside Up in a World That's Upside Down (Paperback)
I travel and speak for a living, (spending about 200 days on the road a year). "The Resilient Spirit" has been a great resource to help me stay focused and to remind me of just how easy it is to "get it back" when that focus has dissipated. It is small enough to fit into my briefcase and I do not go anywhere without it. Any time I am looking for a little help in finding my resilience, I know it is there. You really must own it and share it. Everyone will get something from it. My 17-year-old daughter made me get her a copy. Thanks Eileen!
