Agent Cole Fletcher lives for his job at the FBI, and he’s more than ready for his next assignment—raiding a cult compound and putting their leader behind bars. But he isn’t prepared for Savannah and her knock you on your ass good looks. At nineteen, she’s too old for foster care and too damaged to live on her own. With nowhere else to go, and against his better judgment Cole takes her in.

But helping her out won’t be easy. He comforts her through screaming nightmares and escaping the lingering fears of her past, but that’s the easy part. Her preference to sleep cuddled up next to his warm body, and her desire to please him in every way makes her harder and harder to resist.

Editorial Reviews

"I loved this book, hard. This book was sexy, make you mad HOT, build you back to climax, beautiful love story all wrapped up into one!"  - SwoonWorthy Books
"Resisting Her might just be my favorite of Kendall Ryan's novels. The storyline completely surprised me! It was so nothing like what I had expected. A hint of mystery and danger, just the right amount of angst and lots sexy hot sexual tension." - Flirty and Dirty Book Blog

2.0 out of 5 stars Really Disappointed and Kinda Disgusted April 20, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've read "Unravel Me" and "Make Me Yours" from Ms. Ryan, and while not terribly memorable, they were decent reads, so I decided to give this book a try from all of the positive reviews I was seeing. BIG MISTAKE. First of all, the heroine is EXTREMELY WEAK, and I absolutely hate this in a female lead. Granted, she was only 19 and grew up completely dependent upon other people, but STILL, I like strong, independent women who at least TRY to take care of themselves, and this one was just an emotional, blubbering mess the whole time. What is attractive about that? And ****spoiler**** what self-respecting woman would allow a man to buy her everything under the sun (including a damn car) without even trying to pay him back in some capacity? Seriously? Are we in the 50's?

Next, was the hero. Wait...can we call him that? ****spoiler**** Besides spending a bunch of his money on the heroine and putting her up at his condo, I'm not really sure what's so great about him. He needs to resist her (I don't know why), yet doesn't want her dating the young neighbor and gets jealous. Can you say selfish? And what he did with his sister's friend is SO MESSED UP. He has feelings for the heroine, thinks about her all the time, but he's set up on a blind date with a friend of his sister's and decides to go. He then brings the woman home, has SEX with her (in the same bed he sleeps with heroine in every night), heroine walks in on it, and is apparently turned on by this? And then hero has the audacity to touch heroine (in very intimate places, with hands and mouth) literally right after being with the other woman, and she LETS him. Why is she not outraged by this? Why is she initiating sexual contact with a man who was literally JUST INSIDE ANOTHER WOMAN! Oh, I get it Ms.

2.0 out of 5 stars DIDN'T DO IT FOR ME April 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
FBI agent Cole is part of a raid on a cult, the leader is suspected of persuading his followers to commit suicide. Searching the premises Cole finds a beautiful young woman crouched in a corner. She seems terrified. Cole picks her up and takes her out, she seems to instinctively trust him. Days later unable to get this young woman out of his thoughts he visits her at the safe house. Savannah is not happy in the safe house, she misses the company of the other women from the cult. She's happy to see Cole. But after he leaves an incident happens, she phones Cole he immediately returns, and takes Savannah home with him.

What follows for the first 40% of the book is the mounting tension between Cole and Savannah. Stolen looks and touches. It doesn't help that they sleep in the same bed. That became a regular occurrence after Savannah's nightmares. Cole is finding it more and more difficult to resist Savannah, but not only does he feel she's too young for him, but she's totally inexperienced.

I usually like this authors books, but this one just didn't do it for me. Cole was a complex character, he means well even if he behaves like a complete idiot. Savannah is sleeping in his bed each night, but he then goes on a blind date his sister arranges and brings the woman back to his flat, and proceeds to have sex with her in the same bed where he sleeps with Savannah. Of course Savannah catches them. Then literally minutes after the woman leaves, Savannah who's upset is being comforted by Cole, when things get a little out of hand. That was a bit of a "WTF" moment for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Resisting Her April 23, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Kendall writes very well, making you feel like you are in the moment. So far she writes the best sex scenes by far making them feel not slutty or dirty but romantic and loving like it should be. Serious Cole hangover ever. Good characters and felt like I knew them through the book. The plot was well thought out and followed through. The epologue was exactly what I wanted to read.... loved it & will be reading more of your books!

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing. April 21, 2013

If I could rate it half a star or no star I would. When I first read about this book it sounded like it would be halfway decent. It wasn't until I started getting into it that I realized that the heroine is nothing but a baby. Yes she's nineteen but she acts like she isn't able to do anything for herself. The hero is "conflicted" with thoughts about her to the point he gets jealous when she gets attention from another male yet goes off and sleeps around with other women himself. I was extremely turned off when our hero is caught with his "date". The proceeding acts only made it worse. It's disgusting and for any women to put up with a jerk like that is just wrong. I hardly find a book I hate but this one makes the list. Don't make the same mistake I did in reading this book it isn't worth your time or money!

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing April 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
WARNING - Mild spoiler within review.

I have liked the other books I have read by this author but I was disappointed in this one and certain aspects of it.

Cole is later described by Savannah as an Alpha Male. I wouldn't call him an Alpha Male but I would call him irritating! Savannah is not much of a character at all. Yes she grew up in a Cult and has little real life experience but the author wrote her in a boring way. All she did for most of the book was cook for Cole!

Savannah is a 19 year old Virgin who has been brought up in a Cult and has been taught by the Cult Leader than men only want one thing from her so it was puzzling how attached she becomes to Cole from the first moment. She is always hugging him and when she moves into his apartment, it's not long before they are sleeping (and I mean just sleeping) together every night.

I found a lot of the book boring. Not much happens. There is a guy called Dillon from the Cult who was interested in Savannah..his part in the story petered out to basically nothing and even more confusing to me was how he knew where Cole lived and how did he get an FBI Agents telephone number?

The age thing was pathetic. It takes a while for us to find out Cole's age but the way he kept mentioning how he was too old for her had me thinking he was way in his 30's but he's only 27 and she turns 20 within the book so I hardly think that is a massive age gap!
