About the Author

Ginny Tata-Phillips has been a dog lover for 50 years; a dog owner for 40 and involved in dog-related businesses for 20. Ginny and her husband ran a successful doggy daycare center and boarding facility in California. She now lives in Virginia with 5 rescued dogs, other assorted rescued pets and the aforementioned husband. In fifth grade Diane Grindol was introduced to haiku poetry, and loved it. She has become inspired to revisit its simple, challenging format again as an adult. Diane is currently a full time pet sitter. Her dogs included a rehomed Australian Shepherd and a rescued Briard she showed in obedience. She does freelance photography, drawings and paintings of pets and their people. Diane lives in Pacific Grove, California.

There are people who dedicate their lives to saving abandoned, neglected and abused dogs.

If you ask me, when they die, they go right to heaven. There's no purgatory, no existential red tape, no St. Michael debriefings. Mike's there with the clipboard, sees the dog rescue note, unclicks the velvet rope and waves the rescuer around the long line into the forever lounge of bliss. That's the way it should be.

Haiku's strongest suit, if you ask me, is that it let's the reader do a lot of the thinking. It trusts the reader and, because less is more, the reader goes away satisfied.

Resku gets at the heart of the rescue movement.

The authors are rescuers. They are also clever poets.

They won't be in the line long and you could use a good word put in for you when the time comes.

Buy the book. It'll move you up in line.

Ginny and Diane capture the essence of 'Resku' dogs- they live joyfully in the present moment and show their forever families love and gratitude. The pictures, poems and sentiments in this book are inspirational. Read this book and go out and 'Resku' your very own angel!
