Clear explanations of disease processes,
By amzlyn "Amy" (Pleasant Hill, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Respiratory Disease: A Case Study Approach to Patient Care (Paperback)
I am a Respiratory Therapy student and I have found this book very helpful. Each chapter presents a specific disease and starts with a full description of that disease process which is then followed by a case study. The reader is provided with information about the "patient" and is then asked questions. There are answers to those questions immediately following. This book has really helped me to understand several diseases and I would recommend it for any respiratory pathophysiology class.

This review is from: Respiratory Disease: A Case Study Approach to Patient Care (Paperback)
This book has a great format with interesting case studies involving a number of respiratory conditions, however if you are looking for a thorough examination of respiratory disease, this is not where you will find it. It is completely lacking case studies involving Pulmonary Embolism and Pulmonary Hypertension-- two topics you probably don't want to miss. Overall, a good introductory text with clinical applications and a "big picture" approach to respiratory disease.
