Good for group leaders, not for individuals,
By Daymond S. Wagner (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Responsible Assertive Behavior: Cognitive/Behavioral Procedures for Trainers (Paperback)
I borrowed this book from my supervisor at work to use to teach some assertiveness skills to other co-workers. Lange (a key figure in assertiveness training in the 70's) does a very good job in laying out the differences in assertive and "unassertive" behavior. The main slant of the book, however, is towards leaders in assertiveness skills training groups, and outlines many activities for groups. Parts of the book are appropriate for individuals wanting to improve assertiveness skills, but they might be better served by another book.
