I got ahead of this album several years ago when it was Doria's first. I fell in love with her after hearing the song 5am. She is amazing. A truly unique individual with her spiritually awaking lyrics and melodies. I can honestly say I feel she is NOTHING like Ani. I personally can't stand Ani, but Doria, she's got it all. If you haven't picked up this album yet then you're missing something really special. No one should enter into the world without hearing Doria's rich voice and heartfelt messages. It'll make you see a whole new side to the world.

I love this cd. Doria's music is so refreshing in a time where music is so comercialized and is based on artists' (if you can even call them that) looks as opposed to the actual musical content. I love the fact that she writes her own music, this to me shows how truly talented she is. My favorites on this cd are Dying Mans Wish, Thinking of You, Perfect, and Restoration. I listen to this cd every day.

I first heard of Doria's music on a web bulletin board and just today got the cd. I love it! I was a little worried, since I am a LOT older than probably her usual fans, but that was just not there. I like what she has to say, I like how she says it, and I love the arrangements. Go Doria!

I saw Doria Roberts perform live last night and I left shocked that I'd never heard of her - she's worthy of being compared to some of the great contemporary folk singers and I believe she'll soon be heard of by everyone. I bought the cd "Restoration" and listened to it on the way home. It was so good that I didn't want to get out of the car! The music is fresh, the lyrics are wise and witty, her voice is amazing. It's the kind of music you want to sing along to - but then again you don't because you want to hear her voice. It's one of those cd's that I know will not be shelved and forgotten. I'll listen to it over and over and over again. And I look forward to future cd's by Doria and will not miss her live performances. She's worthy of huge venues and I feel very lucky to have seen her in an intimate setting - I don't think she'll be playing those for long.

There are so many independent artists out there now to choose from and I try to support as many as I possibly can. Every once in awhile I come across someone who just shouldn't be independent. Doria is one of those people. I can definitely see her giving Sarah McLachlan, Macy Gray and the ton of nauseating boy bands out there a run for their money. She's an incredibly gifted songwriter and an amazing vocalist. I admit that it took a few listens to get past the first song on the disc "Perfect" because it was so unbelievably good. It should be on EVERY radio station, everywhere. The other tracks really remind me of early Suzanne Vega-type storytelling but Doria knows how to rock, jam, groove or whatever you want to call it. She makes me want to MOVE as well as listen. Very versatile, timeless stuff here. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Worth the investment and you can say "I remember when no one knew her!"

I've owned Restoration for over a year now and recently I was listenin' to it while driving and can I just say AGAIN that is one GREAT cd. As I was listening, I was reminded of how talented Doria Roberts really is. I think there are a lot of people that write and sing and play guitar but there are few who have the spirit that she has. The bottom lines is that .... as 1999 comes to a close... in my small lil' world.. Restoration is still the 2nd best cd that I've bought in the last 2 years.

This is a wonderful CD. I've owned the CD for four months now and I've had several friends hear it and then purchase it for themselves. You will not be disappointed with this CD.

I saw her live, and i just got hooked. I had to go out and buy her Cd. She is so talented, and her song "perfect" is just so "perfect" I definitally would recomend buying this cd, because it is so good, and you wont regret spending any amount of money purchasing it. It is just a fabulous cd.

Restoration is one the most completely sound cds that I've ever heard. From the intelligent songwriting to the full musical arrangement, it's a cd that won't leave your cd player. And to get to see the songs performed live is just taking things to the next level. Doria is the kind of performer that you can see over and over again, because no two experiences are the same. If you don't own any other cd, you should own this one.

I just had to step in and create a little balance with the insensitive and obvious "prank of a review" someone decided to post about Doria's music. She DOES have a sound of her own and while SOME songs might be reminiscent of Ani DiFranco they certainly are NOT a "rip off". Listen to "Perfect" once and I guarantee you won't be able to turn it off (nor will you be thinking about Ani DiFranco). What she IS: Wonderfully gifted, sensitive, and insightful in her lyrics and delivery, which always leaves me feeling more than I thought I could ever feel. She's a hard working independent artist and deserves to be heard. She's worth the listen, folks. Plain and simple. What she ISN'T: Some cookie cutter sell out and she certainly is not an artist that preaches one thing and practices another...

I'm glad this music is in my life. You will be too...
