I recently purchased a 1988 Rangie and got this excellent book to learn about the car. Although I am a mechanic of last resort, I wanted to know something about how to keep the car in the best condition. This book exceeded my expectations. The instructions are most thorough. It has loads of B/W pictures on every technique. It covers many kits that are available to restore these venerable vehicles. A must-have reference for do-it-yourselfers. As a bonus, you'll discover what part the British mean when they refer to the "bonnet." - Cheerio!

If you are looking for a book that will help you understand how to disassemble and reassemble the Range Rover Classic you need look no further. I will say that if you want a really in depth look at how to "service" the greasier bits you should get the actual Land Rover service manual. If you want to know how to actually "restore" a Rover such as replacing a tired interior, replace rusty panels, paint panels, or how to disassemble a Range Rover Classic properly (may sound self-explanatory, but this book is where I learned that things like the entire roof can be removed and replaced if need be as well as any of the other painted panels), this is the perfect book!

More of an overview; not really as good as advertised. If you're actually restoring one of these beasts you need to spend the cash and buy the actual LR mechanical guide.

I have both & this book was quickly relegated to the bookshelf. Even If you don't buy the mechanical guide- you'll get more mechanically useful info from the LV blogs and websites.

I gave it two stars because the pics will help orient the complete neophyte.
