This is without a doubt the best book I have ever read. You wouldn't think labor and technology in Medieval Culture would be interesting in the least, but George Ovitt positively sings. Beautiful, elegant prose coupled with spurts of riveting, suspenseful narrative. "The Restoration of Perfection : Labor and Technology in Medieval Culture," by George Ovitt, Jr. is, quite simply, awesome. I first read this eight years ago, and ever since I have prayed each and every night that Ovitt will produce another. Only then will my life be complete. I love you, George Ovitt, Jr.
