Book Description

About The Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible: Why Now? The Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible has been in the heart of Father YHWH from the very dawn of His covenant with Jacob. YHWH being in control of all things knew Yisrael’s entire future, including our exile, dispersion and regathering through the Messiah. The Messiah has come, and we are the result of His faithful mission, the return of all the believing exiles of all 12 tribes, both physically and spiritually. Meeting The Need: In order to meet the needs of this growing remnant community, The Father ordained the vision for this edition around the year 2000 CE. We did not act upon the vision at that time for many reasons. One being that the task was so monumental and daunting for us, due to the fact that we would have to self-publish any such Scriptures. However, after the strong and increasing frequency of the prompting by the Set-Apart Spirit, we decided that we could no longer postpone YHWH's will. He desired a translation that would edify and confirm the renewed Yisraelite heritage and identity of many believers in the Messiah Yahshua, who desired to live out their lifestyle as part of the true Commonwealth of Yisrael. Once we decided to obey our Father's orders, the world's first two-house true Name Bible has now become a wonderful living reality. Underlying Text To publish the unique Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible, we used the Masoretic Text as our foundational text for the First Covenant Tanach. We then proceeded to correct obvious anti-Yahshua redactions, shamefully tampered with by the Masoretic editors. Moreover, we reinserted the true Name back into this foundational source. For the Renewed Covenant, we have used many greatly appreciated and widely accepted sources. After prayerful consideration and scholarship, we have used key sources such as the Aramaic Peshitta, which we believe to be the actual autographs, holding to the strong view of Aramaic primacy, The Matthew Shem Tov, The Dead Sea Scrolls, The Septuagint, along with consulting many other legitimate later Greek sources. Most of the sources were Semitic, since we believe the Renewed Covenant was inspired in the Semitic languages of Aramaic and Hebrew. Our Purpose: Our purpose in publishing The Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible is to give all Yisraelite believers a translation that first and foremost uplifts and proclaims the true Names of YHWH and Yahshua, as it originally appeared in the First Covenant almost 7,000 times, as well as restoring it in the Renewed Covenant directly from the Aramaic Peshitta, and other reliable Semitic historical sources. Additional insertions were based on the consistency and immutability of the Heavenly Father, whose Name did not change (Exodus 3:14-15) just because His Son came into the world, and was greatly misunderstood. A Thought For Thought Translation: The Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible is not a word for word translation. It is not designed to be. First of all, all translations in a real honest sense are all paraphrases. Simply put, there is no such thing as a literal word for word translation. It is just that some publishers and editors are pretty crafty at covering up that fact. They don't want you to know that they were forced by linguistic constraints and limitations to paraphrase, or add words, or even often reverse word orders. Some may find that shocking, but it remains nonetheless true. Therefore the Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible has had to employ all of the above traditional translation methods. And we desire to be up front and honest about it. Paraphrase means,an intentional re-wording to make a point.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pros and Cons, October 28, 2007
This review is from: Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible 4th Edition (Hardcover)
Pros:
* Hebrew proper names are supplied, including the replacement of the traditional English "LORD" with the Tetragrammaton.
* Footnotes provide interesting background information, insight, and clarification, from a Hebraic Roots perspective.
* A number of frequently-used English words are replaced with Hebrew transliterations, thus helping the beginning student of Hebrew to become more familiar with some basic vocabulary.

Cons: I do not intend to be unnecessarily critical, since this version has many helpful features. It is quite apparent that this project was a massive undertaking, and I certainly do not want to detract from its value. However I feel that it would benefit greatly by careful proofreading and editing, and that the following points could be made:
* On a number of occasions, the transliterated Hebrew word is not, in fact, the actual word used in the Hebrew Scriptures. This can be confusing and at times misleading.
* The punctuation is unwieldy and many times grammatically incorrect. There is an annoying overuse and misuse of commas and colons. These are often distracting and interrupt the flow of the text.
* Although the notes many times provide helpful background information, insight, and clarification, on occasion they come across as being opinionated and dogmatic. It would seem preferable if these opinions were expressed as such, rather than being presented as facts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Messianic Rabbi Simon Altaf, September 24, 2006

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible 4th Edition (Hardcover)
I am an ex-Muslim well versed in the Jewish Culture, idioms and thought patterns. I have several Bibles in my collection including the Aramaic versions that many Christians are not even aware of exist for study of antiquities and Israeli culture. This Bible comes top in my marks comapared to all I have seen and I have more than anyone else's share of these scriptures since I needed them. This Bible correctly translates many of the obscure passages since it takes the NT from the Aramaic sources and is throughly footnoted to show the reader in a quick glimpse of what the passage says. Let me give you an example:

I want to give you an example of both Tenach (OT) and NT.

Tenach

Isaiah 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great Light: they that live in the land of the shadow of death, upon them has the Light shined.

Only this Bible expains what this really means footnoted.

Moshiach Himself is prophesied to regather Zebulon, Naphtali and other former Yisraelites, in the "dark" Galilee area. His Light will shine brightest in the former Yisraelite areas of the north, now occupied by gentiles who are the direct descendants of those tribes.

For the NT.

Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, They did not send Me but to the lost sheep of Beit Yisrael who went astray.

First who are the "they"?

This Bible expains the reference is to the "triune God".

Then also who is the woman. Again correctly explained in a footnote as this:

This incident is interesting in that the disciples wanted to send her away seeing that in the natural she was a Canaanite woman. Yet Yahshua apparently knew she had Yisraelite heritage due to His response that indicated that He would not abandon her, since He had come for the lost sheep of Yisrael, which apparently He knew her to be.

There are several other passages to exaustive to detail. I cannot stress enough the Father's heart reflected in this Bible. Rabbi Moshe is a Jew well versed in scriptures and YHWH God chose this man for this task. It is incumbent upon All believing Christians to pay attention adn get this Bible to enhance your understanding of the true Messiah that is hardly preached these days.

The choice is between the German Jesus sold in Churches or the Hebrew Israelite Messiah from the tribe of Judah.

1.0 out of 5 stars True To The Word or True To Your Doctrine?, March 9, 2008
This review is from: Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible 4th Edition (Hardcover)
First the translation was translated by Moshe Koniuchowski who is a leader in the two-house movement instead of being translated by a team of individuals who over see the project as a whole such as the case with The Institute for Scripture Research when translating The Scriptures.

The preface starts out stating that the translation emphasis the two-house movement, in other words it's been manipulated to push a particular doctrine.

I don't know about anybody else but I don't want a translation translated by one man who has a doctrinal agenda to push, I want a translation that emphasizes what the word says.

Another problem is that it translates the Fathers name from the Hebrew Yod-Hey-Waw-Hey which has vowel points in Hebrew into English YHWH without vowels, when translating Hebrew to English you must add the vowels for Example YaHuWaH.

Another problem is they spell the Messiah's name Yahshua but there is no Hebrew name Yahshua, the Hebrew spelling they say it comes from is Yod-Hay-Waw-Shin-Ayin but that is Yahushua but that is not the name that is in any of the Aramaic or Hebrew text, the Hebrew name that is used is actually Yod-Shin-Waw-Ayin which is Y'shua or Yeshua.

I know it does not fit into the whole has to be Yah sacred name movement but it is the truth. I would rather have the truth than man-made doctrine, which is what I hate. Whenever you follow doctrines that are contrary to what the word says, you are in a cult.

My recommendation is that you buy The Scriptures by the Institute for Scripture Research instead of this book. It's just plain common sense to have an unbiased translation.
