Pros and Cons,
This review is from: Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible 4th Edition (Hardcover)
Pros:
* Hebrew proper names are supplied, including the replacement of the traditional English "LORD" with the Tetragrammaton. * Footnotes provide interesting background information, insight, and clarification, from a Hebraic Roots perspective. * A number of frequently-used English words are replaced with Hebrew transliterations, thus helping the beginning student of Hebrew to become more familiar with some basic vocabulary. Cons: I do not intend to be unnecessarily critical, since this version has many helpful features. It is quite apparent that this project was a massive undertaking, and I certainly do not want to detract from its value. However I feel that it would benefit greatly by careful proofreading and editing, and that the following points could be made: * On a number of occasions, the transliterated Hebrew word is not, in fact, the actual word used in the Hebrew Scriptures. This can be confusing and at times misleading. * The punctuation is unwieldy and many times grammatically incorrect. There is an annoying overuse and misuse of commas and colons. These are often distracting and interrupt the flow of the text. * Although the notes many times provide helpful background information, insight, and clarification, on occasion they come across as being opinionated and dogmatic. It would seem preferable if these opinions were expressed as such, rather than being presented as facts.

I am an ex-Muslim well versed in the Jewish Culture, idioms and thought patterns. I have several Bibles in my collection including the Aramaic versions that many Christians are not even aware of exist for study of antiquities and Israeli culture. This Bible comes top in my marks comapared to all I have seen and I have more than anyone else's share of these scriptures since I needed them. This Bible correctly translates many of the obscure passages since it takes the NT from the Aramaic sources and is throughly footnoted to show the reader in a quick glimpse of what the passage says. Let me give you an example:
I want to give you an example of both Tenach (OT) and NT. Tenach Isaiah 9:2 The people that walked in darkness have seen a great Light: they that live in the land of the shadow of death, upon them has the Light shined. Only this Bible expains what this really means footnoted. Moshiach Himself is prophesied to regather Zebulon, Naphtali and other former Yisraelites, in the "dark" Galilee area. His Light will shine brightest in the former Yisraelite areas of the north, now occupied by gentiles who are the direct descendants of those tribes. For the NT. Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, They did not send Me but to the lost sheep of Beit Yisrael who went astray. First who are the "they"? This Bible expains the reference is to the "triune God". Then also who is the woman. Again correctly explained in a footnote as this: This incident is interesting in that the disciples wanted to send her away seeing that in the natural she was a Canaanite woman. Yet Yahshua apparently knew she had Yisraelite heritage due to His response that indicated that He would not abandon her, since He had come for the lost sheep of Yisrael, which apparently He knew her to be. There are several other passages to exaustive to detail. I cannot stress enough the Father's heart reflected in this Bible. Rabbi Moshe is a Jew well versed in scriptures and YHWH God chose this man for this task. It is incumbent upon All believing Christians to pay attention adn get this Bible to enhance your understanding of the true Messiah that is hardly preached these days. The choice is between the German Jesus sold in Churches or the Hebrew Israelite Messiah from the tribe of Judah.

True To The Word or True To Your Doctrine?,
By
This review is from: Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible 4th Edition (Hardcover)
First the translation was translated by Moshe Koniuchowski who is a leader in the two-house movement instead of being translated by a team of individuals who over see the project as a whole such as the case with The Institute for Scripture Research when translating The Scriptures.
The preface starts out stating that the translation emphasis the two-house movement, in other words it's been manipulated to push a particular doctrine. I don't know about anybody else but I don't want a translation translated by one man who has a doctrinal agenda to push, I want a translation that emphasizes what the word says. Another problem is that it translates the Fathers name from the Hebrew Yod-Hey-Waw-Hey which has vowel points in Hebrew into English YHWH without vowels, when translating Hebrew to English you must add the vowels for Example YaHuWaH. Another problem is they spell the Messiah's name Yahshua but there is no Hebrew name Yahshua, the Hebrew spelling they say it comes from is Yod-Hay-Waw-Shin-Ayin but that is Yahushua but that is not the name that is in any of the Aramaic or Hebrew text, the Hebrew name that is used is actually Yod-Shin-Waw-Ayin which is Y'shua or Yeshua. I know it does not fit into the whole has to be Yah sacred name movement but it is the truth. I would rather have the truth than man-made doctrine, which is what I hate. Whenever you follow doctrines that are contrary to what the word says, you are in a cult. My recommendation is that you buy The Scriptures by the Institute for Scripture Research instead of this book. It's just plain common sense to have an unbiased translation.

Beautiful Bible, and everything about the Bible itself is awesome. However, for the cost of the Bible, every page is mechanically dog-eared from Isaiah to Revelation, or roughly 2/3 of the Bible. So, I want one without dog-eared/bent pages. Please advise, Amazon. I waited a week to get it, now I can't use it.

I will try to keep this short and to the point: Over the years, I have spent a great deal of money purchasing different versions of the Bible in my journey to find the most accurate and true to the Hebrew Roots. I have found the Restoration Scriptures True Name Edition Study Bible 3rd Edition to be among the best translations that I have found for bringing one closer to the Hebrew Roots of the True Faith. The book itself is a hardback copy with an extremely strong binding. The printing, format, and overall look is quite impressive. I especially love the way the Words of Yahuweh and Yahushua are in italic throughout the entire Bible. The footnotes are very helpful and informative. The only downfall that I have is the Bible is not available in leather, but perhaps that may come in time. My advice to anyone is, if you are looking for a Bible that is accurate and true to the Hebrew Roots you should invest in acquring this translation. Out of all the translations that I have purchased over the years when I go to read, study, or research, I use the Restoration Scriptures. I highly recommend it.

A Difficult and Questionable Translation by a Known Cult Leader,

Unfortunately, most of the Bibles out there that use the proper name YHWH or Yahweh for God instead of LORD are associated with Messianic Ministries that either deny the deity of Yahshua or deny His humanity, revile and hate Christians and Christian holy days, and have other cult-like and divisive beliefs. For example, I own the Restoration Scriptures by Rabbi Koniuchowsky in Florida whose Messianic synagogue was originally a true light in the darkness. I actually studied with him for a while and found value in his Two-House teachings and Jewish view of the Old Testament Scriptures. Unfortunately, a few years ago he began to teach many heresies (including polygamy!) and can definitely now be labeled a cult. As a result, I will have nothing further to do with his organization or his translation of the Bible. Though the Restoration Bible uses the name Yahshua instead of Jesus and the Tetragrammaton YHWH instead of LORD and has many helpful footnotes, it also uses many transliterated Hebrew expressions that make this translation very difficult to read. I know this is to help teach Hebrew to Gentile believers in the Hebrew Roots movement, but I found it highly irritating to have to keep referring to the glossary in the back of this Bible to find out what these words mean and I did not retain them well. That is partly why I refused to use this translation in my Language of God Series books, though I originally purchased it to do so. The other reason is that the notes and words used in the translation occasionally reflect Koniuchowsky's cult theology, which unsettled me and led me to find out that this supposed Messianic Rabbi is really a wolf in shepherd's clothing. Instead of using questionable translations from known cult leaders, I prefer to use the New King James Version of the Bible and add the name Yahweh or Yahweh Elohim where it says LORD or LORD God and Yahshua instead of Jesus in that Bible when I read it aloud or share it in my articles. One Messianic Bible that is fairly reliable and not associated with any cults is the Complete Jewish Bible by Charles Stern, which contains the Old and New Testaments in modern English with transliterations for the Hebrew and Aramaic names used in the Bible and a different order for the books in the New Testament. Like in the Restoration Scriptures, I find the Hebraic names of the Old Testament books and differing order of the books in the New Testament irritating because it is hard for me to find the Old Testament Book or New Testament Epistle I want to refer to without using the Table of Contents. Like the Restoration Scriptures, it is also the translation of one man and not a group of scholars that could add balance. As an alternative to this type of biased or confusing translation, I highly recommend getting the Interlinear Translation of the Bible. This has the books in the traditional order found in the King James Bible along with the text in the original Hebrew and Greek alphabet and the English translation from the King James Bible along with the transliterated pronunciation of the Hebrew and Greek words and the Strong's Concordance numbers for each word. The hard cover version of this Bible is huge and cumbersome to use and has very small text that I find difficult to read, but the PC software version is excellent to use. I love the PC version of this Bible and use it constantly. If you can't afford Bible software (they are ridiculously high-priced and contain tons of relatively useless commentaries), you can find an excellent Interlinear Bible online. Just type "online interlinear bible" in the search box and look for the Biblos web site version of this wonderful resource. I hope you find this information helpful.
