5.0 out of 5 stars Great restorative nursing resource, February 25, 2008
This review is from: Restorative Care Nursing for Older Adults: A Guide for All Care Settings (Springer Series on Geriatric Nursing) (Paperback)
This is a great book on restorative nursing. The chapters include overview of restorative care, staff education, evaluating older adults for restorative care, restorative care activities, motivating the older adult to engage in restorative care, and documentation and reimbursement. The chapter on staff education includes copies of powerpoint slides that work very well for initial training of restorative aides. There are various forms scattered throughout the book and everything seems to be integrated with the quality assurance process. I was also happy to find a chapter on how to motivate residents. Overall, it is a most excellent book and far less expensive than BJ Collard's book. I highly recommend it.
