5.0 out of 5 stars A Practioner's Bible, July 4, 2001
By

This review is from: Restorative Community Justice: Repairing Harm and Transforming Communities (Paperback)
Gordon Bazemore's writing is easy-to-read while maintaining a depth and breath of his subject. This book is made for anyone who is already familiar with the concepts of retorative justice and wants to go deeper into the process. He covers the foundations, stakeholders and organizational roles, and practices. The case studies and sources he quotes are most useful to understanding the principles of restorative justice that he develops. A must for anyone seaching to improve our current retributive justice system while strengthening families and communities.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring, Philosopical, Could be better, April 17, 2010
By
This review is from: Restorative Community Justice: Repairing Harm and Transforming Communities (Paperback)
I hated this book. Absolutely hated it. It is an absolute drag to read. There are zero concrete facts, statistics, or anything for that matter. It is a philosophy book, nothing more. I am a grad student and have to read a lot, but when it comes to this book I always have a hard time. My recommendation: If you are going to take a class that requires this book you should consider taking another class, or wait until the very end of your schooling career to take a class requiring this book.
