Book Description

March 17, 2009
Restorative Justice Is Changing The World by Carol S Harcarik is an inspired book about a powerful new form of Justice that is stopping the cycles of violence and reversing the tide of crime. Victims are healed and offenders transformed as they accept accountability, punishment and help heal the harm they have caused. We can all make a difference by understanding and promoting Restorative Justice. The news is full of tragic stories about Justice. In contrast Harcarik offers stories of hope and transformation -- stories that are not aberrations but rooted in a promising approach to Justice that is gaining momentum world-wide. says Dr. Howard Zehr, Professor of Restorative Justice, Center for Justice & Peace, E. Mennonite University. The transformative power of Restorative Justice is changing our world for the better, every day, in an increasing number of places. Revealing its power to as many people as possible is important and the widest possible distribution of Harcarik s book will address that task splendidly! states Pete DeWind, Clinical Associate Professor, University of Wisconsin Law School. A must read for everyone! This book is a scholarly-crafted and reality-focused examination of the Restorative Justice Concept. Carol has Hit the ball out of the park. states Gary J. Hilton, Assistant Commissioner, New Jersey State Department of Corrections. The transformations are worldwide and include juvenile offenses, drug abuse, prostitution, rape, serial rape, drunk driving death and murder. Restorative Justice is also being used to help resolve international disputes. Read this book to understand and support the use of Restorative Justice.
