There are quite a few books of this type due to the popularity of the first gen Camarao.
Most of them have a lot of historical info and specifications which is helpful in purchasing the right car but are light on actual down and dirty restoration details.
THIS book has lots of detail on actually doing the restoration work written by a fellow who does it for a living. And it's geared toward building a nice driver car, not a museum piece, although it does have a TON of detail on restoring to a 100% production level if that's what is desired. And since it only deals with the three years of 67-69, all the content is geared toward just those cars.
It's also current info (written in 2010) which is valuable in regard to parts suppliers and techniques. Many of the other books are ten or fifteen years old now.
This book pretty much turned out to be EXACTLY what I was looking for.

I am restoring my first car, a 68 Camaro and this book has a lot of useful information (dos and donts)in it that and the fact that the pictures are new and in color really help.You will still need the assembly manual to get a better idea of how the whole thing gos back together. I bought another book "CAMARO RESTORATION GUIDE 1967-1969" by Motor book / Work shop and all it had was SMALL POOR copy's of the assembly diagrams from the 1960s so it was not much help.

This book is the fourth one I have purchased about restoring my 69 Camaro. I like the writer's style and there are plenty of pictures showing what is being described in the text. I've read the book three times, and each time I find more details than the previous read. Lots of good info about First Generation Camaros.

Another book in the long line of books with good overview but not enough details. All topics are covered but you could not take this book and make a mod without having an experienced person standing next to you to guide you.

Good book but not as inclusive as you might want. For instance, it discusses the M22 transmission which only a few Cameros have.
