This is one of the greatest books availible on the subject of family. It gives insites into your spouse as well as your family. Learn God's perspective on common issues that press the Christain household. Gives Biblical solutions to problems that can arise, learn to guard yourself from different attacks that will come against you and your spouse.

This wonderful work on marriage and parenting comes from a sound biblical and psychosocial perspective that clarifies the roles of mothers and fathers. It brings a clear understanding of role differentiation in the marriage based on the realities of gender differences. But be forewarned - this book will challenge many presuppositions of extant evangelical feminism, to say nothing of radical feminism (see Piper and Grudem, 2006 Recovering Biblical Manhood and Womanhood: A Response to Evangelical Feminism. However, the tremendous dignity and nobility of the female gender and the rightful place of a wife as her husband's help mate is preserved in the context of the husband and wife as co-heirs of the grace of Christ. This is a foundational work for counselors dealing with problems in the Christian family today and offers practical guidelines for bringing a marriage under the Lordship of Christ. The Sandford's are ahead of their time in understanding the real challenges facing the modern Christian family.

This book has stood the test of time. I have nearly worn out my original version of it and pre-ordered the revised version before it had even come out. I have quite a large library on the subject of Christian relationships but this is my favorite. I have given copies away over the years.

The Sandfords, as Christian Psychologists, do not make scripture bow to "wisdom" of cognitive psychology, but use the Scriptures as the grid for psychology and all truth presented in their books. Balanced wisdom that is practical and doable.

This book need to be read by ALL families. It is excellent and I wish I had read it when our children were growing up. Now we have grandchildren!

I am a 21 year old senor at Bible College, I am married and my wife and I are trying to start a family. When we decided to start a family I felt it would be a good idea to get some Godly, Biblical guidence in parenting. So Looked online for Biblical parenting Books with good reviews. This book had Great reviews and from the sounds of the reviews you would think that this would be a top notch Parenting book filled with Godly, Biblical advice. Well, it is full of advice but not biblical advice. was not able to finish the book due to the Heresy in it. I personaly will not be giving my copy away, I will most likely end up using it as an example of twisted and misinterpreted scripture or destroy it and let it find a home in the grey filing cabnet.
