This is the most comprehensive, detailed restoration guide available for these cars. The differences in models and their peculiarities are studied in depth, and the author interjects helpful hints from his own restoration experience throughout the book. He even make fun of other manuals that say things like "reassembly is the reversal of this procedure" - because as anyone who has restored a car knows full well - it seldom is! While others may have preferred more photographs, this book is full of the author's own detailed sketches that show many assemblies in a way no other manuals do. It is absolutely filled with useful tricks and tips obtained by the author through his own experience and skinned knuckles, showing you where hidden nuts are located, modifying a tool to reach difficult fasteners etc. If you plan on doing anything more on your Sprite or Midget than just changing the oil - you MUSt have this book.

This book is very good for anyone doing a restoration of these cars. It is highly detailed in both explanation and illustration. The only problem is that it does not cover everything that one needs. The gearbox is not covered and interior and body work are not covered very well. I would recomend this as one of the books needed to restore youe Sprite or Midget. It is better illustrated and more thorough than many of the other books on the subject
