Gets you past the blah-blah-blahs,
By
This review is from: The Resume Queen's Job Search Thesaurus and Career Guide for Professionals (Paperback)
This Job Search Thesaurus won't be the first or only book you'll ever need, but it's a darned useful one, especially for people already in the workforce seeking a new job or career. Using this book, you'll be able to turn the Dilbert-speak used to define your position where you work now into dynamic resume-speak.
The gem embedded in this book is a key insight into corporate recruiting practices: according to the Resume Queen, companies use automation to screen resumes for positions by mapping them to keywords used to define position requirements. Without those keywords, your resume will never burble up from the pile. This thesaurus will help you change weak words into keywords. An unexpected use for the Job Search Thesaurus is for HR people at small companies trying to write job ads or position descriptions. Like all thesauri, this one helps you get out of a language rut and spice it up a little.

The Resume Queen Rules!,
By P. J. Hvizdak-Miller "Tricia Miller" (Port St. Lucie, FL, USA) - See all my reviews

I last looked for a job three years ago, and am amazed at the differences in the search since then. The whole new resume screening process was scary to me until I bought this book. It gives me relevant words that have clarified my communications. I love the job search advice that the author has peppered throughout the book, too. This is an excellent tool that gives me hope that I will land a better job in my field.

Good sensible helpful book.,
This review is from: The Resume Queen's Job Search Thesaurus and Career Guide for Professionals (Paperback)
I reached for this as I was preparing my resume for a job after finishing graduate school. I was surprised. This is a good, sensible, helpful book for anyone who's ever looked for the right word to put on their resume and just come up with the same old terms... especially about-to-be-graduates like me who are too tired to come up with one more word. I was surprised that so much useful information was packed into such a small package.
