Resurrecting Hope offers a ministry model often ignored., December 7, 1998

This review is from: Resurrecting Hope (Hardcover)
John Perkins impressed his cry to support his 3Rs (reconciliation, relocation and redistribution) on me years ago during a pre-Promise Keepers rally held at a church headquarters on Chicago's Greater Westside. I applaud his drive in making his concern for true reconciliation and accountability of all Christians an international one. I recently met two Christian leaders who expressed the impact John Perkins has had on them. One, a Trinity Evangelical Divinity School classmate, has convinced his wife to relocate into a low-income, high crime area in order to better serve the community to which they minister. The other is a former, drug-addict, who attempted suicide. After being regenerated in Christ, he and his family joined a ministry in Chicago's Lawndale community strongly impacted by John Perkins. He serves as a chaplain for drug addicts seeking deliverance in Christ. Perkins' hope strikes again and again.
