Another top Death Metal unit, June 15, 2011

Another one that has re-appeared, this was rather difficult to track down until now. Morgoth were always a solid unit, you could rely on them to get your head swinging every time. Some cite that they were early to mid stage Death clones and Marc Grewe's vocals did at a particular time sound a bit like Evil Chuck's. There was also a slight resemblence to Death's riffs and double kick driven drums. But these E.P's were formative days and Marc Grewe was still evidently finding his home style throatwise. All the songs are good and the production is adequate to say the least. Death Metal the way it should be played. If you have any L.P's of Morgoth go back and hear the songs in their early incantation, if this is your first taste, may this CD lead you to their later releases, of which many of these songs feature.
