Editorial Reviews

Dungeon’s 1999 album Resurrection is a Power Metal classic and a chunck of Australian Metal history. Steeped in the Euro Metal traditions of fast, sharp riffing, thundering double bass drum, hymn-like choruses and Lord Tim’s ingenious and original vocal styling, make the album into a scintillating jewel among thousands of grey pebbles. Now, newly recorded and polished with two bonus tracks and in the familiar noble packaging, it is an essential morsel of music for the quality-conscious headbanger.

4.0 out of 5 stars AUSSIE SPEED METAL, March 27, 2006
This review is from: Resurrection (Audio CD)
This is Dungeon debut album and it is in no way bad, however I gave it 4 stars mainly because Rise to Power and One Step Beyond are so much better. It starts of with Death From Above which is an intro song that sounds like planes are dropping bombs. Their next album titled song, Resurrection, is a fantastic song with great lead vocals and back up vocals and some memorable riffs. Through the rest of the album the songs are what you expect from speed metal, powerfull vocals from "Lord" Tim are definitly the strong points of this album with great riffs and melodies. This definitly paves the way for A Rise to Power and One Step Beyond. I would say Dungeon fans should by this in a heart beat, but if your new to Dungeon, definitly go with A Rise to Power

5.0 out of 5 stars Power Speed Metal, March 13, 2006
This review is from: Resurrection (Audio CD)
This is a reissue of their second album from 1999.

The album gets three stars but the limited edition gets five stars

Each album they get better!I was dissapointed with this album but there are some highlights on this album.

Lord Tim's vocal style is awesome.
The bass is awesome and unique.
The riffs are rad.
Solos are amazing.

Death From Above is an intro that is 53 seconds long, then jumps right into Resurrection which rules, great riffs on this song.

Severed Ties is a ballad which is awesome, the beginnig rules, awesome bass,at the end of the song he sings high which is just amazing.

I Am Death which is off their first album Demolition is pure awesomeness and will blow you away,I'm glad they put this song on this reissue.Amazing song, they have thrash in this song after the solo.

This also has Paradise and Time To Die on this which is off their first album.

The Legend Of Huma is another awesome song that has a real good beginnig, arranged very nicely.

The bonus tracks are Playing To Win,Waiting For An Alibi which is a Thin Lizzy song.Lord Tim does not sing on this song the other guitarist Stu sings it.

Then the last bonus song is the acoustic version of Severed Ties which I like better then the original or is just as good.

The second cd is a live performance from Japan which is good.

So with this limited edition album you get some bonus songs,a live cd from Japan, mpeg video clip of I Am Death,a little poster of the cover with the band members on it which is cool and a sticker of the album cover.
So the limited edition cd is worth it,I was just a little dissapointed with the album.

One Step Beyond is their best album!
