Although by now Abaddon had left the band this album is a strong comeback to their roots but with a polished production. The energy still there and the guitar work improved a lot from the early albums. With this album the band took again their path as the most extreme act from the NWOBHM era and keep being a true black metal band at the same time.

This album is Heavy man... It does not sound like the old school Venom most of us love/hate. This album is a straight up kick in the teeth. Any fan of straight up Heavy Rock/Metal with thunderous drums and guitar riffs straight from hell (I'm not talking that tin can Black metal trebly stuff) has to own this.

Resurrection finds Venom at their absolute best. All the problems that have hindered the band's potential greatness have been alleviated. The production is monsterous, the song writing is diabolically profound, and the musicianship is psychotically crisp. There is hardley a bad song to be found on this album and the best songs here are instant metal classics. Resurrection ranks among the best metal and death metal albums of the era.
