Truly outstanding! This is a book with incredibly direct applicable methodology for the retail sales person. It gives hope, direction, and motivation to the struggling, as well as the successful, sales professional; and it helps all of us in my company's sales management ranks to remain more focused on what we can do to help our sales teams improve the top line. Ron Martin's book is now required reading as a part of our sales training program. It gives our company tremendous benefit

Excellent resource for Anybody who sells retail, March 9, 2005

Ron's book is a superb resource, and is the life's work of a guy who's trained thousands of retail salespeople successfully. This book, and the companion, Retail Sales Management Made Easy, are must-have resources for people who sell face-to-face, including retail salesmanship.
What makes this book particularly valuable is:
- the how-to tips for approaching the customer, backing off, reading them, then communicating with them in a way that Gets the Sale ... far beyond basic sales 101 stuff, Ron's book is a must-have resource for sales success.
- Ron's approach to selling is one I've applied, tested and used for years in my own salesmanship, and this book is a pure gem of how to sell face to face to other people. It works.
- Having been a management consultant in the same market (Honolulu), I've talked to many of his clients After Ron's worked with them and they have been wildly enthusiastic about the sales results he's helped them achieve. Ron's been hired by virtually every major retailer in Honolulu, because his stuff works famously.
- The book provides assessment tools and a sales process that gives a step by step roadmap to both new and experienced sales associates, and is absolutely genuine, and works.
Ron's site also has tons of testimonials from sales managers at top retailers, look up his name in google to find his site; eg ronmartin dot net. It has DVDs and testimonials too.
Ron's the "go to guy" for retail sales training, and I have no hesitation in enthusiastically recommending him and his book. He's a fine man, and really helps retailers sell more.
Even if you're not retail sales only, this book has a lifetime of solid salesmanship captured in it (as with Ron's other books) and made a big difference in my approach to online and offline sales. He's an ace.
Bottom line: If you want to sell more, Grab this book now.

It Does What It Says, May 24, 2011

Even though the title and cover may seem kitchy, this book does all it promises and more! It does make "retail selling easy" - it breaks down all the barriers to making effective connections with your customers, and gives reasonable, simple advice on how to do so. The day after receiving this book I tried some of the recommended techniques, with immediate results. It proved to me that you don't have to be a "shark" or a "used-car salesman" to achieve high sales; and actually, that this type of aggression drives customers away. I highly, highly recommend this book to anyone working in sales or customer service in any capacity!
