3.0 out of 5 stars They Shut Down Website During Finals!
While the book is very well written, easy to follow and easy to study, McGraw-Hill shut down my link to this book's site during finals! And it won't be back until *after* my last quizzes are do. How could they time maintenance while classes are still in session? Access to Flashcards and test quizzes are now not guaranteed in my opinion. Disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Levy.Wietz vs. Berman.Evans, November 9, 2010
This review is from: Retailing Management (Hardcover)
I have taught Retailing using both the Berman.Evans text and the Levy.Wietz text.
Advantage of Levy.Wietz=more functional/practical information about retailing with regard to location/scope of physical location. Disadvantage is flow of the text itself causes for repetitive delivery of contents in many instances. usually when I teach using Levy.Wietz I organize chapters that meet practical needs of undergraduates.

Advantage of Berman.Evans is more strategy focused, includes more internet/ecommerce, organization of text is straight forward and non-repetitive. Disadvantage of Berman.Evans is lack of fundamental details on scope of physical location and selection criteria.

Comments from practitioner with 9 years experience in retailing and 6 years experience in strategic planning. I am now teaching at state university.

Both text book authors are due for new editions.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good basic book, November 27, 2010
This review is from: Retailing Management (Hardcover)
I was a supplier of product to national groceries stores, had some idea of the overall basic retailing concepts, but this book is a good start if you haven't got any relation with this market segment.
Everything is explained to the least common denominator with very clear ideas and concepts.
But if your want something more detail, i dont't think this is for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just as good., November 9, 2011

Needed it for a class. Just as good as newer editions. Check with your instructor about using an older edition but there is practically no difference.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Purchase!, September 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Retailing Management (Hardcover)
The book was in great condition, not a mark in it. I also received the book in the mail a lot sooner then I thought. I am extremely happy with the purchase and would buy from this person again.

This is not the book I ordered. I am already 1 week into the class and will have a very hard time getting the book I ordered. I am very disappointed with this order! The cover on my book looks nothing like the cover shown here.

3.0 out of 5 stars adequate product and seller, August 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Retailing Management (Hardcover)
I listed this as 3 stars for a few reasons. Firstly, though the item arrived within the 2 month variance listed for international shipping, it still took nearly a month to arrive which is a bit slow in my experience with Amazon sellers. The book itself was described as 'like new' but it has 4 stickers on the cover and binding as well as a couple of folded pages which were not mentioned. On a positive note, the book was packed better than many others I have received and the price was still quite reasonable. Knowing of the shipping delay I would still purchase from this seller, provided I was organized enough in ordering my textbooks ahead of time.

3.0 out of 5 stars multiple printings/, January 6, 2010
This review is from: Retailing Management (Hardcover)
There a so many editions of this book you never know what you will get buying it used or new .
If you are a student and get the wrong one you are screwed until you get it right.
There is international edition,USA edition soft cover, hard cover multiple publishers.

Some are shipped from half way around the world,by the time you get the book
you class could be over. Have you ever paid for 2nd day air service when something is in
Thailand? Call or e-mail the seller to make sure it is the book you need and want.
Don't fall for the (some as low as 39.95) BS.

Professional Student.
