This review is from: Rethinking Boucher (Issues & Debates) (Paperback)
"Rethinking Boucher" is a scholarly anthology about the French painter Francois Boucher. It's frankly boring. Instead, read Melissa Hyde's own book "Making up the Rococo". It's much more interesting, even entertaining. At least if you enjoy transvestites and transgenders. (No kidding.)
Skip this one. Boucher himself would have fallen asleep, listening to this kind of lectures. He would probably have said: "Denis Diderot, come back, all is forgiven". :P |
