This work is wholly devoted to Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, The great leader of the proletariat is the chief inspiration behind the book, its main character, and at the same time a subject of the author's research and meditations.
In its four parts ("Learning from Lenin", "Travels Across Normandy and Brittany", "In the Library of the British Museum", and "Christmas at Sorrento"), Mariette Shaginyan presents a broad panorama of life and action, in which the past and present, facts from Lenin's biography and episodes from the author's life and writings, historical and strictly personal happenings, are closely interwoven. Essentially, the book is the author's interior monologue, her reflections on the present day.
