Retractable handset cord- good for wall phones

I like this device for my _wall_ phone in the kitchen, which is an older phone with a speaker, and with the regular LONG curly phone cord hanging on the wall, it looked horrible hanging down, so I bought THIS retractable handset cord and when I have to walk all over my kitchen it's great, because it's tight and doesn't hang down, so I don't knock anything off my island. BUT in the office, when I'm talking to clients, and sitting back and forward and having it pull, it just doesn't work well, PLUS it makes a pulling noise in the phone. So maybe it's the fact that I'm sitting down? I don't know, exactly. But I love it for my kitchen when I'm doing dishes or making breakfast, so I can do 2 things at once and talk on the phone. One thing you need to do each time, though, is make sure that it is straight, and that it went back into the black thing okay. There are usually some inches of the cord on either end that are twisted a little, when you finish a phone call, so every time I'm done using the phone, if it doesn't look like this picture, all even, I unplug it from the phone or handset and quickly make it straight and plug it back in. Perfect. So Overall? Very Good for some situations and not for others. That may just be because of my setup in my office. But maybe it's because the office phone that it was attached to isn't strapped down to anything. Yeah! I think that's it. So here you go - rule of thumb, before you purchase this retractable cord - determine this: if the phone you want to use a retractable phone cord on, is attached to the wall or is really, super heavy, this will work well with it. Otherwise, not, because a light, desk phone will just pull towards you. Because that's what the retractable cord DOES! It pulls! :)

Great Idea lasts six months

I loved this cord retractor but it only lasts about six months. I did however buy another one.

VERY HANDY!

I got this cord for work, and wow it is great. Great quality sound, and it doesn't get tangled, and I don't trip over it. It really goes very far, and I can do many things at work while I am talking on the phone. I highly recommend this product, and I might get one for home too! Much better quality sound than a wireless unit.
