Living in the Sacred Hoop -- A Connectedness to All,
By A Customer
This review is from: A Retreat With Black Elk: Living in the Sacred Hoop (Retreat With-- Series) (Paperback)
I recently led an e-mail retreat using "A Retreat With Black Elk" as our guide. It was refreshing in both content and spiritual benefits. The author led us to find our own path on The Good Red Road using the life, inspiration, dreams, example and words of the great holy man of the Oglala Sioux - Black Elk. This book not only deepened the faith of myself and my fellow seekers, but it also helped illuminate our connection and reverence with all life. Many thanks to the author for her honesty and purity of words/thought. This wonderful little book is perhaps the most important and sacred joy to have come my way in a long time.

Many white explorer and all too many missionaries call Indians devil worshipers. The Holy Spirit tower became Devil's Tower. Holy Spirit Lake became Devil's Lake. The sacred hoop was assaulted. Some say it was broken. In this book there is a restoration of the Sacred Hoop, as Black Elk foresaw. Native spirituality is celebrated. |
