I loved this story the best out ot the series because everyone thought of Sidney as week and fraile but she showed them in the end that she was strong in heart and spirit. Brilliant.

Sidney & Adam,
By CAS (Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Retribution (Silhouette Intimate Moments No. 1303)(Devil's Cove series) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is one of the Devil's Cove series, this one about the youngest daughter. The romance is very formulaic, but the story is all right. In this one Sidney, the youngest daughter, is living and working in the woods and falls for Adam, a photographer hiding from an international terrorist.
Yeah, I know. The opening chapter with Sidney's great love dying in the hospital before the wedding vows can be completed is pretty hard to bear, but you'll make it. One thing you'll notice from reading Ruth Langan novels is that she has a soft spot for the characters she names "Adam" and always puts extra effort into describing them. Always with the hair that's curling at his collar and the on again off again beard. Must be a real one in her life somewhere. The most redeeming part is when Adam tries to strong arm Sidney into leaving and she stands up to him. Sidney, at least, has a mind of her own. Langan's treatment of the beauty of the forest rings true. Not the best of the Devil's Cove series, but not the worst either. Light afternoon reading. |
