This is a cheap imitation. The ball is comprised of two pieces of plastic. The plastic on 1/2 of the ball had a white haze on it. The floating answer board also looks cheap. Needless to say, I sent it back the day after I received it.

So sad! This 8 Ball really is SAD. Not like the "old" 8 Ball at all (except in theory).
Yes it does the same thing. But!
Very cheaply made, larger and less convenient to hold, the answer triangle that floats has difficulty aligning to a flat answer side, and the writing is so small it's REALLY hard to read.
Save your money and memories this one will disappoint.

We're in our 80s but neither my wife nor I yet approaching gaga. Along with a salvaged Ouija Board and a Tarot deck, the Magic 8 Ball adds welcome levity to matters serious to all, not only the elderly. For example, discussions of finances, health, householding, current headlines, even gardening and cooking. The Eight-Ball's well made, sturdy, imaginatively stocked with enormous variety of answers (many of which, amusingly, have been more accurate than those of experts in the fields mentioned above). Truly a classic and, if enjoyed in the sense intended, a pleasant grace note to daily life.

Luckily, or nephew, Lancelot is a beautiful child and was very grateful for this Christmas gift! With his bright hazel eyes he screamed, "I have been wanting this!!!! HOW DID YOU KNOW???" And he is still playing with his magic 8 ball. He is 10 years old. It is hard to read the letters. The dye makes the window so dark. In one word, SUCKS! I would never buy this one again.

I ordered this toy because it took me to my childhood and I have a display of old toys. This was in great condition. I could hardly read what showed up in the ball.

This is what you expect it to be. It's a Magic 8 ball and it is more fun than it should be.

Allright, so it was a gift to my eight year old daughter, who can read the triangle thing-y answers. That's fine, but caution: don't let them take it on a airplane with them -- it doesn't get through security. CONFISCATED and disposed of in front of her eyes! BRUTAL. To add insult to that, I had to promise her I'd buy her another one. Can't read that one either, but at least she has her 8 Ball (she named it "Steve").
