Comfy & cute, but assembly is a bad joke,

Everything that the first reviewer of this product said is true (no pre-drilled seats, assembly is unique every time). I ordered a pair of these chairs and they're working out wonderfullly...but it took multiple, frustrating hours to get there. My seats lacked any directions for assembly, so, there was some redo work involved. Also, if you're not comfortable drilling (read: you will need a drill) your own holes for the seat pads...stay away.
The assembled chairs are comfortable for what they are. They look very cute and they should hold up for a few years. The simple inclusion of assembly instructions would bump my review up by a star. As it stands, I can't rate semi-tricky, DIY furniture (without instructions) any higher than three stars.

Use a Cordless Screwdriver and You'll be Fine,

It's true, the holes are not pre-drilled on the seat. But you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out where to put the screws. You line up the seat on the frame, hold them both in place and then turn the screws in. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, you can line up the seat and frame, take a pen or pencil and mark where the holes should be and pre-drill.
Look, I'm 8 months pregnant and I did this by myself with a cheap ($10) Black and Decker cordless screwdriver. The screws they use are not the typical philips or flat heads, they are hex screws and if you have a bit for your drill or screwdriver, that will make assembly a breeze. My chairs came with goofy Chinese directions(they were really funny, but I understood) and it took me about a half-hour to put the two together. The chairs themselves look great. The pictures are lame and make them look a little cheap, but they really are nicer than I expected. The vinyl is not shiny, it is matte, but that's okay because shiny vinyl would probably look gross after a while. The seat cushion is extra thick and it's not that crappy foam that flattens after a few sits. The frame is sturdy, I had a 300-pound guy sit in one for dinner and all parts are still intact (phew!). Also, the glides are nylon so they won't damage your floor. Sooo, I think these are a really good buy for less than $50 a piece.

Good quality - can be hard to put together,
This review is from: Set of 2 Retro Nostalgic Style Black Finish Dining Chairs (Kitchen)
I have 3 of my 4 chairs put together, but after a few weeks still cannot get the screws in the seatback of the last chair. The seat cushions do not have pre-drilled holes, so you can end up with all the seat cushions on differently. I am happy with the 3 chairs that are put together, but I now have one unusable chair.

retro style chairs,

The chairs are great but there should be holes to screw the seat on. It was hard to do until I got the drill out to make holes.

Good but a few issues, and horrid directions,

First and foremost the directions are written in broken English. Secondly like an idiot I had mixed up the legs on the chairs and put two left and two right on the chairs... I also used the screws for the bigger and vice versa and had to re-do pieces. So take it slow, and make sure the small screws go in the metal while the longer ones go in the back to hold the headrest. As for the drilling of the seat, that was most likely the easiest part. I put my weight into it while someone held the cushion and bam.
They look nice, they match excellent, and they seem to be decent quality. A little longer than expected with the assembly but good otherwise.

CHAIRS OK,
This review is from: Set of 2 Retro Nostalgic Style Black Finish Dining Chairs (Kitchen)
RETRO CHAIRS BOUGHT FOR USE IN A COMMERCIAL ENVIRONMENT. THE QUALITY OF THE CHAIRS SEEMS PRETTY GOOD. I WAS TASKED WITH PUTTING THESE TOGETHER FOR MY WIFE. THERE IS PLENTY TO DO TO GET THEM TOGETHER. ONCE I FIGURED OUT THE WAY THEY ATTACH IT WAS NO PROBLEM JUST TOOK A LITTLE TIME AND EFFORT. I DON'T LIKE THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE TO SCREW IN THE SEAT AND THE BACKS WITH NO PREDRILLED HOLES TO LINE UP THE TWO PIECES. WHEN TOGETHER THEY SIT VERY WELL AND LOOK NICE I THINK.

The dining chairs were shipped quickly and I had no problem putting them together. They completed two similar chairs I bought a few years earlier. What kept the chairs from being five stars was that they are more of a matte finish on the vinyl fabric and not glossy, like the ones I have. The pictures and description do not describe that.

Desired look for good price,

I did a retro 1950's look in my kitchen on a shoestring budget. I looked at dozens of "diner" chairs. The price was a BIG factor in buying these chairs however they look great with the table. The only advice I would give you is that during assembly put the backrest on first even though the directions don't show it that way, if you don't they are a booger to get together. Even with that they are comfortable sturdy great chairs. Love-um.

The chairs are great, however, I would not deal with this company again. Two chairs came right away and were complete. The other two chairs did not have the legs with them. After numerous complaints and a couple of months, the other legs were finally delivered. None of the chairs had hole in the bottom so they needed to be drilled before the legs could be attached to the seat.
