For those who deeply love the soul and spirit of Celtic music, this CD is manna from heaven in the grand Newfoundland tradition. The promised land is right here on this spectacular collection featuring outstanding heartfelt musicianship and exquisite, haunting vocals from Pamela Morgan. The songs on "Figgy Duff-- A Retrospective: 1974-1993" are truly timeless, gorgeous, and intensely spiritual. Listing highlights is pointless as every song is a carefully crafted gem. Simply stunning!

The worst thing about this CD is the fact that you may start neglecting your other CDs. The first day I got it, I listened for almost four hours straight and never got tired of it. The songs, great to begin with, grow on you like nobody's business.

If you were sent to this page from any kind of related link - a Great Big Sea page, a Celtic music list - you already know you'll love this CD. I was initially, and still am, shocked at the reasonable price for this CD. It's basically the size of a double-CD set (19 songs), so you're definitely getting a deal with this one.

If you've never heard Figgy Duff, make this the first CD in your new collection.

I was introduced to Figgy Duff on a TV show some years ago called Due South. I attempted to find CDs but never seemed to find their stuff available (pre-internet). I was happy to see Amazon had a CD and purchased it. The song I liked in Due South is on the CD as well as many other excellent songs. I have been enjoying the music since my purchase. I highly recommend it.
