I enjoyed this book very much. It really was a great blend of suspense, love story, ethics and spirituality. It is the type of book you want to read straight through. I enjoyed the personalities of the characters. Great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Retrovirus Review, February 6, 2003

Great book!!
Very suspenseful; I could not put it down. It was so fast-paced that I had to finish it the same day I started. It reminded me of an Indiana Jones movie - you're totally captivated. The outcome was not predictive which just increased the suspense. I think it will affect every reader and make them think about the real purpose of their life. 'Big thumbs up!'

4.0 out of 5 stars Plan on not doing anything else until you finish this book!, February 6, 2003

New author, T.L. Higley, spins a web of suspense in this book, Retrovirus. The plot is intriguing, and I found I just couldn't put this book down! The issue (gene therapy) is timely and relevent to issues today and although I am not a scientist, I found the details readable and understandable, and I didn't get pulled away from the plot as it was woven into the story. Character development was good, too. I look forward to more from this author!

Dr. Nick Donovan leaves his position as a university researcher to take a more lucrative position at syntech labs. But clues left by the researcher he replaced lead Nick to wonder if this job is what he thought he was being hired to do...or something else entirely. Very suspenseful with sub-plots and romance. I look forward to reading more books by this author!

5.0 out of 5 stars Retrovirus, August 1, 2008

I loved this book, couldn't put it down, thrilling medical fiction. I even wrote the author to find out if she had written any more such books. She is currently concentrating on historical fiction. I would like her to write more medical thrillers.

While not exactly on par with Robin Cook, T.L. Higley did an great job with this story. It was suspenseful, interesting and skillfully wove important ethical issues into the plot that we all need to think about. It also gave great step by step instructions on how to witness effectively. There were a few improbable story details but that did not distract very much from my overall enjoyment of the book.
