The story line is good and I like the characters but it needs some more editing. The author really likes to use foreshadowing but it only foreshadows something on the next page so it gets really annoying. One of the main character's name is spelled differently in different parts of the book and one character gets assigned to two different dragons. That really made me think that the author really didn't care, which makes me question whether I should read any upcoming books in the series. That being said, I hope he continues the series and fine tunes the writing a bit.

I found that this book was quite good except for the fact that every race in the book knew this one prophecy and that they automatically liked him even though he killed ... sorry, but i can`t tell you. that would give away too much.

Overview
Anders is the son of a diplomat who thinks his life is boring. that changes suddenly when a portal opens in his bedroom wall and he sees the most beautiful girl ever. little does he know that she will open up doorways to his heart and magical potential, among other things. i would recommend this book if you like swords, pixies, heroic quests (sounds cheesy, i know), and good old fashiond butt-kicking.

(P.S, my next review will be on the phoenix conspiracy)

This is a good read but not a great one for adults. The book seems to be written more for teenagers. The writing quality is good, the story line might be a little lacking, but for me I never tire of the same old thing if it is done well, and it is. I finished the book in about 4 or 5 hours altogether and I would still say it was time well spent. If you are taking a long trip go ahead and bring this one along.

.............stands tall in the crowded genre of dragon stories; very refreshing and I strongly recommend it. The story line is interesting and unique as it intertwines several worlds (or cultures) that are really one and the same, though presented from very different perspectives. The story is action-packed and the pacing is excellent. Characters are so well-developed I felt connected with them all, cheering them on to victory, sharing their tears when defeat seemed certain, then joyfully planning future victories. I think I loved the Tree People the best! I am eagerly awaiting the next Teddy Jacobs Dragon story.

You swing a staff until you're ready to swing a sword. Then you go on all kinds of adventures -- fighting monsters, casting spells and saving damsels in distress. This is the sum of our hero's tude! Great read, page turner nails you to the floor and doesn't let up. The end comes up so quick you ask yourself did I just finish that?

Great read, very hard to put down. Both books leave you wishing they were longer. I read "Sword Bearer" and then found the "Windrider". While looking at the second book I found both books in "Return of the Dragons". At the end of the book you will be relieved by the outcome and wanting the next book in the series that you know has to be coming soon.

The beginning of this book kept me turning the pages to see what happened next. I was very disappointed to find that I had finished it before I was ready for it to end, and I know it has to continue to a second book. There is action, a great main character and secondary characters that make it more interesting. I highly recommend this book.

From the start this book is full of action and magic. The view of the world from a magical perspective is amazing and I love the focus on nature. In a way some of the people in the book are much like the natives from Avatar. I couldn't put the book down, and it left me wanting more. I can't wait for the next one!
