Anyone, and I mean anyone, who enjoys fantasy writing at it's best will thoroughly enjoy Return to Glory. From the first page the feel of a true fantasy novel was evident. I have been a fantasy reader for twenty years and have languished recently in a sea of overwought wannabes, but this book returns to the GLORY of the genre. However, it does so with such an interesting twist and such intense writing that hope springs anew for those of us who have been searching for a NEW VOICE. J.S. Gates is obviously not just a writer of fantasy, but a reader and fan. His ideas are fresh, without the emptiness of the emporer's new clothes. His voice is resonant, clear, and utterly enjoyable. I would recommend this book to anyone who seeks action, adventure, substance, and style. If you love fantasy as I do then do yourself a favour and try this one. A great read!!

I am not typically a reader of fantasy novels; however, a friend recommended this book to me and I loved it! It was so captivating I could hardly stop reading. This is a great book for anyone who is interested in action/drama, a little romance, and a small peek into a new and unknown world.

If you are an avid reader of fantasy or even if you are new to the genre this is the book for you!! This is meat and potatoes fantasy writing at its best. Gates helped me to remember why I love fantasy in the first place. I greatly appreciate the old school ideas combined with a fantastic storyline and remarkably vivid character visualization. Can not wait for the continuance!!
