NONE BETTER,

This review is from: Return to the Heart (Audio CD)
There is no piano music in my collection that I have played more than Return to the Heart. Lanz is a genius. There is not a mediocre composition on the entire CD, and this involves over an hour of music. Many CD's I forward ahead when a piece appears that I don't care for, but not this one. It's all top rate folks. You won't be sorry if you purchase this one.

"It's all about a hope for a brighter future," David says. David is a New Age pianist with a light, soft hands that dance over the keys. While traveling through Europe he recorded vintage compositions and improvisations. His rendition of 'A Whiter Shade of Pale' a J.S. Bach inspiration is exquisite. 'Cristofori's Dream' is dedicated to the Italian inventor of the 'divinely inspired piano' in the 18th century. This CD is straight from the heart and inspired from the heavens! Many songs on here you will find on more recent CD's because they are classic and timeless.

magical music,
By A Customer
This review is from: Return to the Heart (Audio CD)
I remember the first time I heard "Dream of the forgotten child" my entire body became covered with goosebumps. It is one of the truly haunting pieces of music written in the last 30-40 years. When you hear it once you will never forget it.On the strength of this song alone I went and ordered this "Return to the Heart" album. The great music didn't stop there.Lanz's version of "A whiter shade of pale"is also remarkable,as is the "Canon" variations.I didn't think too highly of the "Inprovisations",but "Christofori's Dream" is a fine bit of romanticism.I generally roll my eyes at the greater part of the New Age composers. The Yanni's of the world make me want to wretch, but Lanz gives hope that New Age doesn't have to be vapid and pompous. As for this album, scoop up any used copies you can find and give them away, and get a couple for yourself.Anyone who likes beautiful and heartfelt music will undoubtedly love this rare gem of an album
