I bought this game for my 11 and 14 year old siblings after I read a favorable review at learningvillage.com. Little did I realize how fun this game would be. Figuring out the solutions to the contraptions is very fun even when they're very challenging. My 14 year old brother won't touch anyting educational (unless I force him too) but he really liked this game. I liked it very much myself and I sometimes find myself figuring out solutions late into the night when I should be working on my college paper.

While the game can get challenging there's a very helpful tutorial which shows you how each surface, part, ball, laser, ball etc. works. My sister finished the tutorial in no time and was quickly working out solutions to the "contraptions."

I highly recommend this game to parents who want to buy a fun educational/problem solving game for their kids or for themselves. Don't be surprised if you find yourself telling your kid to let YOU play the game. When you do find yourself playing with your children just make sure you don't help them too much. Actually, there will be times when you'll ask your kids for help.

After playing the demo of "Even More Contraptions", I found
myself wanting still more contraptions to solve and to build.
This software is everything I wanted and more.

I first looked at Crazy Machines, but chose not to buy it because I wasn't SURE that my kids would enjoy it... and at that cost, it wasn't worth the gamble. Then I found this and figured it was worth it.
I have a 6,5 and 3 year old. The older two love it. They enjoy watching each other play it as well and like to work together to figure things out. The thing that makes this game workable for my kids is that all of the instructions are given verbally as well as visually, and you can press a button to hear the instructions again. That means that even non-readers can follow instructions and play -- and what a great lesson in listening CAREFULLY to instructions!

This brought back fond memories of the old DOS game where we had to build RubeGoldberg contraptions from a set of outrageous parts. You can't help but smile while building these machines. My sister's kids are having a blast with this and their NOT blowing away zombies or saving the world!

Bought this for my son almost 3 years ago. He's 9 and still plays the game.

I got this as a present for my 12 year-old grandson and he has had a lot of fun with it. He has also passed it around to his brother (13) and cousin (8). it can be challenging, but also makes you think about how things should work together to accomplish a goal. Grampa (67) has also tried it a few times and it is both thought-provoking and fun. When you finally get a "Contraption" to work there is a definite sense of accomplishment. A must for the budding mechanical engineer.

We just bought the PC game "Return of The Incredible Machine Contraptions" for our now 6 year old son. It is perfect! He just loves making his own inventions a la Rube Goldberg, especially when it involves lasers and cats - oh wait, that's my husband! He is enjoying this game as much as, or more, than my son! The game gives its instructions verbally as well as in print so even nonreaders figure things out quickly. There are levels for those who like solving puzzles and free play for the creative mind. Our game occasionally freezes, I don't know if that's common with this version or just our computer. For a 10-year old game it is fantastic. I originally played this game in the late 90's so I am very very impressed that it still works on today's computers (although we made sure to buy the version that came out later).

I would highly recommend this game to anybody, young or old, who enjoys putting things together and making things work....and who like blowing up cats with laser guns!

I bought this game for my boyfriend. He just loves the game and can spend hours figuring the different contraptions out. The different levels makes this a great game for not only adults but children too.

The boys (ages 9 and 5) love making these machines, AND it runs on my Mac! Definitely a good buy!

My 6 year old son loves this game. He plays it for hours at a time. Definitely worth the money.
