About the Author

Patricia Pulliam Phillips is president of The ROI Institute and chairman and CEO fo the Chelsea Group. Phillips has implemented ROI in private- and public-sector organization and has conducted ROI studies on many programs, including leadership development, sales, new-hire orientation, human performance improvement, as well as K-12 educator development. She is the author or co-author of dozens of books and articles on ROI, including Make Training Evaluation Work (ASTD Press), ROI at Work (ASTD Press), and Bottomline on ROI (CEP Press). Jack J. Phillips is chairman of The ROI Institute. Through the Institute, Phillips provides consulting services and workshops for Fortune 500 companies and major organizations throughout the world. Phillips is also the author or editor of more than 30 books and 100 articles. His expertise in measurement and evaluation is based on more than 27 years of corporate experience in five industries and as a training and development manager at two Fortune 500 firms, senior human resources officer at tow firms, president of a regional federal savings bank, and management professor at a major state university.

More About the Author

As authors, consultants and business partners, Jack and Patti Phillips help organizations and individuals account for investments in programs, processes, and initiatives. Currently they work in 55 countries with private sector, public sector, and social sector organizations. The use of their process, ROI Methodology, is applied to a variety of types of programs including training and development, human resources, marketing, meetings and events, and most recently sustainability initiatives. Jack's academic accomplishments include degrees in engineering, physics, and quantitative methods. He holds a Ph.D. in human resources management. Patti's academic academic accomplishments include degrees in education and public/private management. She holds a Ph.D. in international development. Each has vast corporate experience, are prolific researchers, and serve as faculty for major universities. When they are not traveling, they spend time at home in Chelsea, AL, and Blairsville, GA.
