Return to Me by Christy Reece,

This review is from: Return to Me: A Novel (Mass Market Paperback)
How nice! I was afraid I would have to wait for book three to get Noah's story, but "Return to Me" delivers with all the suspense of "Rescue Me" with Noah as the hero. I had to go looking for Reece's bio, wondering if maybe she has published under another name. The good news is, this trilogy IS her first published work/s and she's already got another one (trilogy) set for publication in Feb, Mar, and Apr 2010.
Noah is the head of LCR (Last Chance Rescue). It's his baby and the only thing he lives for. He set up the organization to atone for his perceived past and even though he rarely acts an operative, he still knows every man and woman he's recruited and trained to help those who can't help themselves. But his latest case will pit Noah against a criminal he's all too familiar with and one he's not sure he can kill. Samara thinks Noah is the MOST arrogant and irritating man she's ever met. Sure he's gorgeous, but then he opens his big, fat mouth and infuriates her! She knows when a man is attracted to her, and he IS, but she gave him his chance and he blew it. So what is he doing tracking her down now? Sure, he needs her help...to act as bait and save young teens from an online predator. Samara knows she couldn't live with herself if she doesn't help, but having to live with Noah may be too much of a price to pay. Then the evil comes closer than either of them thought, and both Noah and Samara will have to face their fears together to win. Noah, Noah, Noah. What a yummy, heroic, and STUPID man! That's my only negative for this book. How can such an intelligent man continue to harbor such delusions? No matter how I tried I just couldn't make that fit with Noah's other characteristics and that bugged me throughout the book. Other than that...really enjoyed the whole shebang. Plot, pacing, hot sex, intrigue, action, dialogue...they all work together to form one hell of a read that will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. Now you'll just have to excuse me while I run out and pick up book three "Run to Me".

keeps getting better,
This review is from: Return to Me: A Novel (Mass Market Paperback)
YEAH!!! I was so excited to get Noahs story. YUMMY!!! Ms Reece has not disappointed me. This is a great 2nd installment to the series. Noah and Samara's story was every bit as good as Eden's. Noah has enlisted Samara's aid in taking down the bad guys but the plan doesnt go down that way and Samara is taken hostage. OMG, what a twist with plenty more in this romantic suspense. I read this one all the way through and was just as pleased when I reached the end. I didnt want the story to stop. Ms Reece is on my to buy list for future books. This story does not let you down.

I love to read romantic suspense, and I'm always looking for new authors. Christy Reece has hit my "must buy" list! I read her first book, Rescue Me, and it was excellent, so I pre-ordered this one. It's just as good! The reviews above are good teasers for the story. I'm just going to tell you that the book is good all the way through, exciting and engrossing with characters you really connect with. And a satisfying ending. Highly recommended!

What a joy to discover a new author whose books keep you thoroughly entertained from beginning to ending. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, you can't find any better than Christy Reece's new "Last Chance Rescue" series. Fast-paced, action packed, sizzling romance and wonderfully written characters. "Rescue Me" was amazing; "Return to Me" only got better. This series is definitely worthy of front and center on anyone's keeper shelf. On June 23rd you'll find me first in line at the bookstore eager to purchase the next book in this series.

A romance to return to again and again!,

This review is from: Return to Me: A Novel (Mass Market Paperback)
In the second of the Christy Reece "Return" series, featuring Last Chance Rescue operatives, we find Noah McCall (founder of LCR) wrestling with his inner determination not to love.... ever. Noah has good reason too. On the surface, he is determined not to lose focus of LCR, which demands all of his time. With over 100 operatives under his belt and as many cases and ops, he's a busy guy. But there's an even deeper reason beneath his mask of control which threatens to unravel him, and his loved ones.
Getting to the root of Noah's childhood, family, past, and nightmares made for a fascinating and gripping read. I wouldn't dare give anything away but I must say, Reece did an amazing job with this one. Noah's tangled web is complex, emotional and draining to read. But the reward is so grand, it is well worth the journey. Samara Lyons adds the most important layer to this book. She is determined, feisty and intelligent enough to break through the carefully comprised layers of Noah's hard exterior to find the vulnerable man within. Having a background in counseling certainly helps her as she carefully (and not without a trace of humor) approaches this guarded and intense man! (And trust me, I've rarely read a romance with such a resilient heroine!) The story follows a basic, but exciting, plot line of Noah's op to uncover a group of "serial kidnappers" which pose on-line as high school boys to lure young teenage females to them. Samara plays a part as the undercover teenage girl in an attempt to create a sting to lure the kidnappers out of their hiding place and, ultimately, in an attempt to rescue countless missing girls. That being said, the story goes much deeper than this and becomes so engrossing, I dare you to put it down! Another fabulous read from Christy Reece!!

Six Stars Please,
This review is from: Return to Me: A Novel (Mass Market Paperback)
Since I gave the first book in this series 5 stars, and I quite possibly liked this 2nd installation even more, I wish I could give Return to Me 6 stars. There just isn't anything in this series that I see as a weakness. The characters have a depth to them that is not always found in books these days. There is a LOT of drama, a bit of suspense, and just enough humor to provide the complete package. I love that the main characters from the first book make a significant appearance as well, and there is enough information about Ethan to get us excited about the third book, coming out later this month. Highly recommended!

I seem to be reading this trilogy of books in reverse order. I started with "Run To Me" which is the third in the series, then picked up this book, "Return to Me" which I thought was the first but turns out to be the second. Fortunately it didn't seem to matter at all as each story works in its own right. And this is a good read, a book that slowly builds as our heroine, Samara Lyons, finds herself drawn in to a world unlike anything she had experienced or even known about before. Samara is known to Noah McCall, boss of Last Chance Rescue, as she was the former lover of Jordan, one of the LCR operatives (and, I presume, the focus of Book 1, `Rescue Me', which I still haven't read). She met Noah at Jordan and Eden's wedding and was instantly attracted to him; however, this didn't go well and he resisted her attempted seduction and disappeared from her life. But now Noah's back. He needs Samara's help as she has something he needs - her looks. Samara is small and very young looking and he needs her to help with a sting operation to try to get to the bottom of a group that are kidnapping teenage girls whom they contact through internet chatrooms. It will, of course, be a safe operation with Samara always surrounded by LCR operatives. Or will it? The story might seem slow initially in terms of plot action but the author is using the time to introduce the characters properly to each other and to build on the attraction they both have. I liked Samara and her feistiness, as well as her occasional vulnerability. Noah was rather afflicted by the men-in-action-novels-who-are-hunky-but-emotionally-clueless syndrome but he sorts himself out eventually, as one would suspect. Parts of this story are actually fairly dark, although the author handles them well. There's danger and murder and kidnapping and more, but the focus actually seems always to be more significantly on Noah and Samara and their interactions. This was a great read, very exciting and, although perhaps a little unbelievable at times, a worthwhile read for those who like action and adventure with their romance. This is my first book by Christy Reece and will certainly NOT be my last. This book has everything I look for, romance, action and suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I purchased this book this morning and read ALL day long as I could not put it down. I would recommend this book in a heartbeat and have just purchased the next one, Run to Me and cannot wait to start reading.

Loved this book and I am barely holding off on starting #3, although it is close to midnight and I should go to bed. When you have all of Christy Reece's on your bookshelf, that be can good or bad depending on how much sleep you need. Oh well, it will be there tomorrow and so will I. I have dearly loved all the LCR books and look forward to more.
