Just finished my initial listen to the new Dweezil Zappa CD. I can not imagine anyone being disappointed on any level with Dweezil's presentation of his Dad's music. I've seen the Zappa Plays Zappa band four times and each time I sense a stronger understanding of FZ's catalog. This band is so incredibly hot, please don't deny yourself the oppurtunity to see them if you do have the chance, but even if you can't, this collection will provide big time fun for your hard earned entetainment dollar. Highlights for me were Magic Fingers,Andy and Inca Roads (Really nice solo there Dweezil) but the whole CD smokes. What a band...please come to Nashville guys...would love that! Buy this disc now!

Perhaps more so than any other modern musician and composer, the diverse musical palette of Frank Zappa is deserving of re-creation. Unlike the children of other well known musicians, Dweezil appears to be comfortable in the role of presenting the music of his father, and he does it very well. With the exception of some excellent solos by Dweezil (who has a unique voice on the guitar) the arrangements do not wander far from the originals. Given the complexity of the material, this is a testament to the skill of the musicians represented here. This disc will not disappoint fans of Frank's music. The recording is clear and crisp, and the mix is perfect. In an interview given near the end of his life Frank seemed unconcerned regarding how he would be remembered. Sorry to disappoint you Frank, but your son is doing a damn fine job of seeing that you are not forgotten, and rightfully so.

I bought this CD for my husband who is a fanatical Frank Zappa fan
from way back. My husband said that Dweezil is doing an outstanding
job of keeping his dad's legacy alive by producing these wonderful
CDs. Dweezil's previous CD "Zappa Plays Zappa" was amazing because
it was an audio/video CD whereas "Return of the Son of Zappa" is
only audio but nevertheless fantastic. Frank Zappa fans will not
be disappointed as Dweezil really nails his dad's music spot on.
My husband gets a lump in his throat listening to Franks's son
perform his music and keep his memory alive. This is a must-have
for all FZ fans.

Amazing guitar work
Highly recommended. Dweezil plays some great guitar on this live CD. Only other person I can imagine could play this kind of complex style of music would be his late father, Frank.

Don't heistate to get this--great 2nd CD from ZPZ; I just saw them two nights ago on their 2010 tour, and i had to drive 14 hours there and back to Milwaukee to do it!
