I am a HUGE Simba's Pride fan and this soundtrack ROCKS!, July 25, 1999

Really cool songs, although "My Lullaby" and "One of Us" could've used more work. I LOVE "Love Will Find A Way" and "We Are One"! Liz Callaway has such a great voice! I agree with the person who said they wished "Warthog Rhapsody" was on this CD. (They called it "Warthog Philosophy" but it's really called "Warthog Rhapsody".) Great CD, you'll love it! Go and buy it right now!

Maybe it's not the Lion King, but then what is?, December 8, 1998
Talk about damning with faint praise...sure, it's not the masterful work that TLK is, but it's one heck of a sequel. 'We Are One' and 'Upendi' are wonderfully warm and fun pieces, and Zira's 'My Lullaby' is delightfully cruel. And talk about a miracle; they actually managed to change 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' from an annoying piece of dreck into a cool, groovin' version of same. My only critique is that I wish they (the filmmakers) had found a way to use 'The Warthog Philosophy' in the soundtrack. (The song's a riot and can be found on Rhythm of the Pride Lands.)

This album hasn't stopped playing since I purchased it!, September 29, 1998
If you liked the original Lion King soundtrack (and who didn't), then you'll love this new album "Return to Pride Rock." There's much variety here. From the hip-sounding "Upendi" to the slow-but-powerful "Love Will Find a Way" to the inspirational "We Are One," you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll be inspired! When I listen to it, I'm reminded of how I feel when I listen to the original Lion King Soundtrack: good. I love the different African-sounding rhythms and chants that blend perfectly with the songs, and Angelique Kidjo's performance of "We Are One" is truly pleasant to the ear! A worthy successor to the throne! Disney's done it again! Children and adults alike will enjoy this new musical addition to The Lion King universe!
