Weak offering from a writer who could have done better,

While this book is not without merit, it clashes severely with known Raffles canon on many points: Bunny and Raffles were not officers in the Boer War, and after his presumed death, Raffles was changed physically, and would have had to be insane to even think of going near the Albany, much less rooming there again, to name two off the top of my head.
The prose is serviceable, but this book reads rather as though Tremayne had skimmed the original Raffles canon and written it in some haste. For Raffles completists only.
