Why Is Everyone Famous in a Past Lifetime?, July 25, 2004
This review is from: Return of the Revolutionaries: The Case for Reincarnation and Soul Groups Reunited (Paperback)
A prior reviewer criticized Return of the Revolutionaries because many of the subjects were famous in past lives. In truth, most people are not famous in prior lifetimes. In researching objective evidence of reincarnation, though, for a person to be found in a historical record, they must have had some impact on society. As such, there is a selection bias in cases that can be researched. If the person was not of some repute in a prior era, there would not be a historic record.
Several independently researched cases in Return of the Revolutionaries do not involve famous people. These include the cases of Penney Peirce/Alice Cary, Robert Snow/Carroll Beckwith and cases researched by Ian Stevenson, MD, at the University of Virginia. These Stevenson cases include Suzanne Ghanem/Hannah Monsour and Daniel Jurdi/Rashid Kaddege.
Further, Neale Donald Walsh, author of the Conversations with God series, is identified as a little known minister in Boston. A spirit guide channeled through Kevin Ryerson made this past life match involving Mr. Walsch. A record of this minister was subsequently found and facial features and personality traits matched. Mr. Walsch subsequently agreed to be featured as a reincarnation case in Revolutionaries.
Rather than criticizing the use of a medium in this work, one must conclude that the number of seemingly accurate matches made by Kevin Ryerson's spirit guide makes this spirit guide a valuable resource. Only close minded individuals, who do not look at the reincarnation cases with an open mind and heart, would summarily reject the use of someone like Kevin Ryerson.
There are reasons why people believe they are someone famous, and why psychics tell people they were someone famous, in prior lifetimes. These include the following:
1. Landmark Associations-Most people who think that they are someone famous, or who have been told by a psychic that they are a famous personage, are not the famous person in question. Rather, the famous person acts as a landmark for the era. For example, someone who resonates with Cleopatra was not necessarily the queen, but rather, this person may have simply lived in Egypt during that time, they may have been a servant to Cleopatra, or perhaps even a relative.
Since the person or psychic cannot come up with the name of this individual in the past lifetime, the name that represents the lifetime symbolically, i.e., Cleopatra, is drawn upon. In general, getting accurate names and historical data is the most difficult thing to get in regressions and in psychic readings. Images and general location, time of a past lifetime are easier to access.
2. Guidance Incarnations--People do have spiritual guides, who can influence people on the earth plane. Generally, guides have a karmic relationship with the person. In prior lifetimes, the spirit guide may have been a family member, teacher or close friend when both individuals were incarnate. For example, an individual may have been an art student of Leonardo da Vinci. In this lifetime, da Vinci may be acting as a guide to this person, who is again an artist. The person my get inspiration from da Vinci and even think he or she is da Vinci, but it is not the case. In a true reincarnation case, the person would have to look like Da Vinci, have the same personality traits, passions and karmic group around them.
A reviewer also argues that the research is not scientific. The reviewer failed to mention that the limitations of the research are discussed in the book and the intent is that research involving hard science will follow. In addition, it should be noted that several people of genius caliber, including neurosurgeon Norm Shealy, who invented the TENS unit, Kary Mullis, who won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, and Dean Brown, a physicist who worked with Albert Einstein at Princeton, support the reincarnation research found in Revolutionaries.
Finally, one must keep in mind that great social change and benefit that objective evidence of reincarnation can bring. This evidence shows that people can change religious, ethic and racial affiliation from lifetime to lifetime. If people realize that one can be born Jewish in one lifetime and Muslim or Christian in another, then conflicts based on these differences would dissolve.
A case in point involves Barbro Karlen, who has had memories since childhood of being Anne Frank (the Anne Frank/Barbro Karlen case can be reviewed at www.johnadams.net). Barbro was born into a Christian family in contemporary times. I like to point out that if 60 years ago, the German people knew that one could be born Jewish in one lifetime and Christian in another, then there could never have been a Holocaust.
This is why research on objective evidence of reincarnation is so important and why it will eventually transform the world in a positive way.

important research on Reincarnation and American destiny, May 31, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Return of the Revolutionaries: The Case for Reincarnation and Soul Groups Reunited (Paperback)
Superbly researched and written by a brilliant and versatile medical doctor, this book can be expected to make history and be recognized as a classic in its genre. While there are no new concepts involved, the application of science, religion, intuition and logic together enabled the accomplishment of what could never have been achieved by such applied separately. More than seventy cases of living persons, many who are widely recognized today, are included in this work. Bill Clinton, Al Gore, George W. Bush, Jesse Ventura, Oprah Winfrey, Ross Perot, Ralph Nader, John and Robert Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson and Martin Luther King, Jr., are among the reincarnated revolutionaries.
Here is a book that rests upon an all encompassing concept found in the world's great religions; that whatsoever a man shall sow, that shall he also reap. At the same time, it melts away the basis for racial prejudice and religious prejudice and makes irrational all the exclusive conditions that various religions impose upon their followers to ensure their salvation. It verifies the Golden Rule as Natural Law in operation.
Even more remarkably, it offers evidence that must transform our understanding of heredity. It provides a basis to recognize that our character traits, natural abilities, artistic talents and inclinations are not the product of fortunate or unfortunate combinations of genes but are entirely our own creation and are preexisting to any particular life that we have in the earth. This is an Ancient Wisdom teaching that has been on record through out all time. This understanding transforms the concept of DNA from its being the source of characteristics of the individual to its being the composite result of the thoughts and actions of the individual soul-entity down through the centuries.
How can a book about the reappearance by reincarnation of the Founding Fathers of America, the revolutionaries, possibly be associated with the foregoing statements?
Science is based upon probabilities. Computer science provides a basis to examine an hypothesized probability and correlate vast data to establish it as an aspect of Natural Law or dismiss it. The accurate preservation of physical appearances through photography, in combination with the computer's capacity for storing data and making vast accumulations of records instantly accessible, is the basis for the existence of this crucially important book. The combination of a brilliant mind, a lawyer's ability to build a sound case, a broad background of scholarship regarding the subject matter, an open mind and exceptional capacity for reasoning, in addition to his exceptionally developed sensitivity to respond to guidance by intuition, has enabled Dr. Semkiw to produce a book that has established the above statements as matters of Natural Law.
This is not to suggest that there is anything pedantic or tedious about the presentation of the material. It is fascinating reading and for many people it will be difficult to put this book down. The opening portion is devoted to information concerning how the author came to dedicate himself to write such a controversial work and to his over view of the subject of reincarnation. He does this astutely, presenting such in a highly readable manner. Then follows his perception that individuals return in bodies that are similar to those of their last appearance in the earth and how they are inclined to again associate in families and socially. He disarmingly describes his own reactions to learning of his identity as the return of President John Adams. By his forthright presentation of his thoughts, he becomes like a personal acquaintance to his reader.
It is a great adventure to be taken along with Doctor Semkiw as he unravels each of the cases of reincarnation. The implications of his findings are momentous for our civilization. The returned founders of our nation are now dedicated to restoring the ideals that it was founded upon and contributing to its spiritual awakening. Accurate knowledge of the Natural Laws governing our lives will provide the incentive for the most able, the most intelligent, the most ambitious, the most energetic, of our citizens to dedicate their lives to serve the best interest of their fellow man and posterity.
