5.0 out of 5 stars A graphic adventure with serios inclinings and you CAN die (and usually do!), July 9, 2007
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Return to Ringworld (CD-ROM)
Larry Niven's "Ringworld" was a series of books and this game was great fun. The dialogue was snappy and funny but also very deep in the plot. I had heard of this game on a PBS demonstraiton by some electronic nerd along with a game called "Outworld" a mining strategy game. You explore your ship for clues and then traverse the void of Rings and finally end up on the planet it'self. You play three different characters at will but you must get to a point to where one helps the others at given instanse, for instance, Miranda is captured and you cannot go further with her uniil "Seeker" gets what he is to do done in full. The chief charters are: Quinn, a kindof hard luck privateer(the real central character I believe) "The Seeker"(non specified name more on a character class) he is a lionine mezomorf(fancy name for lion-like humanoid)and captains the "Lance of Truth, and Miranda, the Lance of Truth's navigator. Each has a mission and a private endevor and you must work for each other mutually and usually separated from different sides of the planet. I never read the novels, but can say that in not doing so, the game is fun and of a great plot for even non RW fans. I probably will read the novels now becuase of the game(not visa versa) I was not aware that this was also the sequal to a game previously released called simply, "Ringworld". I now regret not buying that one earlier when it was retail! Thier are many card games that are qutie fun and although arent' related directly to winning the main plot are very welcome additons for an in game diversion! Don't play RtRW(or probably RW either) on a modern machine without first consulting DOS box's forums for answeres it is plagued with problems and crashes or freezes often!(as of 2007)
