5.0 out of 5 stars WWII Action in a Modern Day Setting - Excellent Fun!, July 18, 1997

This review is from: Return of the Seventh Carrier (Paperback)
If you liked "Guns of the South" or Worldwar Series by Harry Turtledove, give this series a try. The first book was the best, what if 7 carriers were launched against Pearl Harbor in WWII, but one was locked into a frozen harbor in Siberia? Then 45 years later the carrier broke free still attempting to carry out its order. BANZAI! BANZAI! BANZAI!

Peter Albano, a sailor during WWII, has spent a great deal of time researching the tactics of WWII Japanese sailors and airmen. You can smell the salt air, the cordite, the avgas; hear the sounds of the sea, feel the tension of samuris vs outsiders: Peter makes it come alive.

Set sail on the greatest carrier from WWII, the Yonaga.
