5.0 out of 5 stars A great box set!
This is how they should've done the 10 Faces of Sonny Chiba box, a few years ago. The movies have their original Japanese audio, the transfer is very good, the box is very nice, and there's also an included booklet about Sue Shiomi and the director. Jam-packed with martial hijinks and zany comic book baddies, this set comes highly recommended for the choppy-socky audience.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sister Street Fighter
Sue Shiomi is a very beautiful girl with a great talent and skill in the martial arts.
She makes any martial arts movie enjoyable to watch. This movie is nowhere as great as The Dragon Princess.
The Dragon Princess is the movie that every martial arts lover should watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sister Street Fighter Series Finally Done With Respect., September 24, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was presently surprised by the job BCI did with there Sister Street Fighter Collection. All 4 of Etsuko Shihomi Sister Street Fighter films are remastered, wide screen, uncensored, and in Japanese with English subtitles. BCI has also included a full color booklet with history on Sister Street Fighter. The 1st 3 Sister Street Fighter films are like a comic book come to life. Etsuko Shihomi's character Koryu Lee fights the most craziest & colorful vilians ever in martial arts film. The 4th film in this collection Sister Street Fighter: Fifth Level Fist is not really a Sister Street Fighter film. Etsuko Shihomi plays a new character Kiku in Fifth Level Fist. Fifth Level Fist does away with the comic book like villians, over the top violence and nudity that are featured in the first three films. Fifth Level Fist with its more reality based story is still a good film in its on way. It is a also good contrast to the other three films.

I'm hopeing BCI releases another boxset set of Etsuko Shihomi films in the future. A boxset containing Dragon Princess,13 Steps of Maki,The Great Chase, and The Second is a Christian would be nice.

Now, I only wished somebody would treat the Sonny Chiba Street Fighter films with as much respect in region 1. Until that happens those with multiregion DVD players can import Optimum's British Sonny Chiba Street Fighter collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value, great box set!, January 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
As other reviewers have noted, this is a very well-executed box set collection. The current prices on it from Amazon sellers are a steal. Hopefully if you are looking at this product you are a fan of this genre and appreciate the older movies. If you are, you will love this set. The picture quality is better than most of the previous releases of these films and it is all presented in anamorphic widescreen in Japanese with English subs (although there is an international cast that speaks English at times in Fifth Level Fist). The included booklet is great for fans! I just wanted to add a five star review to bolster what others have already written.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Box Set!, October 1, 2010
Being a big fan of The Sonny Chiba series, it was only natural that I'd have to own the Sister Street Fighter collection and I'm overjoyed with my purchase. Now, to be fair, most of the films in this series are almost identical and one isn't even truly considered a true sequel but anything with the beautiful and wonderfully capable Etsuko Shihomi is worth seeing and owning. BCI has gone under and this collection went OOP for awhile but it's guaranteed to see a re-release through somebody so start saving up those pennies because The Sister Street Fighter collection is worth every single one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sister Street Fighter: Return, February 6, 2008
I've only seen 'Sister Street Fighter:Return' but wow! What a movie! The action sequences were well done and were simple yet pleasing to the eye. The story line was pretty deep, and moved along nicely. This is one of the best films I've seen in a while and I plan to buy the entire box collection!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!!!, September 25, 2006
This is what DVD was made for!

Forget those bootlegs and earlier editions of SS people!

Right here is the absolute best quality and presentation ever.

All 4 films(one is not an official SS film but close enough),remastered to perfection.

SS itself has an english track and the rest are in the original language with subtitles.

BCI is definitely the lead dog in the martial arts field at this point with the Chiba,Shiomi,Rarescope and even Tony Jaa's Spirited Killer film coming out like an assault!

And the price is amazing for this package here.

It comes out to about 10 bucks a film and its worth it.

You can get it cheaper from the Amazon sellers section which would come out to about 30 bucks with shipping. So 7.50 a flick.

There's original posters and trailers plus a great booklet with articles and interviews about Shiomi.

Watching these with this level of quality is like seeing them for the first time.

5.0 out of 5 stars The second in the trilogy., April 22, 2003

This review is from: Return of Street Fighter [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Some sequils are pathetic and horrable. This was just as good as the first. Sonny Chiba returns as Terry Tsurugi and he his just as deadly in this one as he was in the first. When Terry Tsurugi refuses one assignment for the mob they try to stop him. Of course the key word is try. Once again he comes out on top. Get the whole... trilogy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shigehiro Ozawa's Return of the Street Fighter, May 31, 2002
This review is from: Return of Street Fighter [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Sonny Chiba is back as Terry Sugury, a hired killer for a business tycoon who is building a giant karate academy. Chiba dabbles in the hitman trade, while his old karate instructor finds out the tycoon is using the instructor's name to procure "donations" for the mob. After an honest cop is killed and the instructor injured in a hit, Chiba contorts himself ... all over the tycoon, the mafia, and an old villain we thought was dead in the first film.

This film is definitely an improvement over the original "The Street Fighter," whose plot I was never able to figure out. Chiba does that thing where he calls up inner strength through breathing exercises in the middle of some fights. They call it inner strength ... . Someone must have let the producers knows this was kind of funny in the first film because it is kept to a minimum here. Sadly, Chiba is also saddled with yet another "funny" sidekick, this time a young woman who speaks like a hippie.

There are a few major fight set pieces here, with the best being a chaotic fight at a spa, just ignore the weak comedy relief in the form of a whiny fat guy (no, not me). I do recommend this film over the first one and I recommend it to any martial arts fans.

This was Japanese dubbed into English and is rated (R) for physical violence, gun violence, gore, some profanity, brief female nudity, and mild sexual content.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Sequel, April 6, 2001

Not as bad as previous reviewers would have you think & the fullframe version is actually the edited version, whereas the widescreen letterboxed version is uncut. Worth a watch for Chiba/"StreetFighter" fans.
