Book Description

The whole sky is glistening light green and everyone just accepts it.

Including me.

But what’s their excuse? Mine is that five years ago my wife and little boy died in a car accident. Everything changed after that, and I hid myself from of the world. I didn’t care about anything except drinking my days and nights away, much less think about the color of the sky.

Seven weeks ago, the first of the five murders begin. The victims are all bled dry, and they all have a strange symbol tattooed on their wrists: a circle within a circle. I don’t think the FBI will ever find out that the killer is a hideous, unnatural being.

Soon after, my world is tossed up again, confusing and frustrating me. This guy, a hooded man, forces me to play his "epic" game - to play his game of killing - otherwise he’ll kill even more people.

I wanna escape, but I have no choice – I can’t just let them die.

I know he’s playing me, manipulating me for some kind of end. He says it’s part of my "development." And he’s right – I am developing. I’m beginning to do things no other human can do. Then, I begin to have visions. I see, in the future, cities engulfed in fiery blazes. I see the whole world burned to ashes.

But I wanna run away from it. I never wanted this! I don’t want to be part of this!

Someone told me once that God is asking me to take on a challenge, to take on a role he already planned out. “We all have our roles in life,” the guy says, and this is mine. There’s something wrong with this green-sky world, and I’m supposed to be the one to fix it.

You ask me what’s my name? I can’t tell you my name. Sometimes I just don’t remember it. But something is burning a symbol on my wrist – a circle within a circle. It’s the same one on the victims.

I don’t know how it’s happening.

Is God doing this?
Is God giving me a new name?
Am I the one to set things right ... the one to save the world?

5.0 out of 5 stars Very unique and well written work January 21, 2014

This book caught my interest.

I'm glad I got it because I really loved it!

This is a one-of-a-kind supernatural story. There are several things going on in its intricate storyline (each having their own mysteries) and they all tie in together very well. I loved the main characters and the dynamic between them. You'll end up realizing this is really about an epic tale of good and evil and the unknown. The main characters have their internal struggles with who they truly are versus what they've become.

A hint for you as you read: you've got to pay attention to the headings at the beginning of certain chapters and sections. They tell you the timeframe of what you're about to read. There's something really interesting happening with time. It makes this book really unique.
Keep reading ... You'll understand what's going on.

And the last chapters are so very good - exciting and unpredictable!

Hope the next book in the series comes out soon!

5.0 out of 5 stars unique characters and subplots August 25, 2013
Format:Paperback
I picked this up from a recommendation of a friend. This is supposed to be the first book of the Retuning Blaze series. It's an interesting read! I haven't read anything like this book-it's quite unique. The story has elements of the supernatural, and you're kept guessing on the main character's true identity. For those looking for a unique and intriguing fiction novel, with Christian themes, and multi-layered subplots, give this book a try!

4.0 out of 5 stars There are a good number of subplots October 24, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a rather unusual book, and in a way it made me think of the detective novels of the forties but beefed up to an epic scale.. The opening pages of the story may be a little hard going, for he main opponents were only described, and remained thus for the first three-quarter of the book.
However, as the plot unfolds the book becomes very interesting and exiting. There are a good number of subplots, and the reader will forever remain guessing..
I really enjoyed this book.
